Our 3 year old slept till just before 8am today, what a result! But now we are worried incase he is unwell as he is just lying on the couch saying he is tired (he is usually full of beans so this is unheard of behaviour). But he is insistent he is going to his friend's party this afternoon, so off to town we must go to find a present for his wee friend.

OH and I have reviewed the budget for this month and we are falling short. No matter what I try to trim, we are going to be short to pay things and buy food etc. It's mainly due to the fact that May was such an expensive month with my road tax, MOT, 5 birthdays and our anniversary all falling into it. So I am going to phone and wake my sister up and ask her to relist all my stuff on eBay as it is free listing this weekend and needs must. I am determined to sell that leather jacket this month!

So I had better go and get the 3 year old into some clothes and try to persuade him to eat his breakfast (also unheard of behaviour, he usually eats us out of house and home!),then we must hit the shops for a birthday pressie.

    Hello All,

I feel like I fell off the face of the planet for a couple of days. It's been a wee bit of a blur. The wee one wasn't well so we never made the party (fortunately decided before we purchased a present!). So it was a weekend of disturbed sleep before we staggered in here like zombies yesterday morning. Then I had the nightmare day from hell work wise yesterday and it looks like part 2 is set to unfold today :)

But there were 2 positives. I am short to pay for everything this month so I was delighted that OH and I managed to stock up on food that will last us well into next week yesterday on £38!! The meal planner and list really do work.

Secondly, OH and I have decided to lose weight (massive family wedding occurring in February for which we want to look our best) so we started our exercise plan at the weekend and did some more yesterday (probably ill advised as we were so sleepy by the time we got home yesterday). I feel very virtuous now but my arms are so sore, it hurts when I am driving :rotfl:

Best crack on with some work now.

Thanks Woo, my OH is smashing. I was much skinnier when I met him and he knows I am not happy being a bit bigger so we are doing the exercise plan together. It is actually quite a good laugh working out together plus we hope to keep each other motivated. Also, there is someone to sympathise with you when you can't move your arms or legs the following day :rotfl:

    Morning All,

Yesterday turned out to be a marginally better day at work than expected, woo hoo! And today looks like it will be a bit better again so that's good news.

We hit the shops last night and got the birthday presents, sticking exactly to budget which surprised and pleased me. Think he will love the presents as well. We decided not to do our exercise stuff when we got home as it was 9pm and also, we had walked round the shops for ages so we counted that as exercise.

Am a little down and worried looking at the state of my bank account considering I have only been paid this week, however, I have great faith in eBay, if some of my stuff could sell we would be ok.

Last night I was v chuffed as I completed enough surveys on one site to be able to redeem my points. I have been building up those points since Christmas so it was v exciting to get to cash them in at last. They post out a cheque and apparently it takes 6-8 weeks so although it would be nice to get it sooner, it will still be great to get it :)

Well back off to work I go :)

    Morning Jules

Don't feel down, you did really well last night sticking to budget and I'm sure all your stuff will sell on ebay.

Fingers crossed your cheque arrives before pay day x

Thanks Woo, I will perk up I am sure. That is the last of all the birthdays/bigger expenses than usual done until October so I am sure we will get back on track soon x

    Morning All,

Only in work 10 minutes and I'd quite like to scream already, but I won't lol. I am dealing with the tricky situation of working with someone remotely who is at a time difference from me so when I left yesterday all was well and my boss was happy with me, come in this morning and all is unwell again and my boss will be peeved with me. But it is Thursday so the week is nearly finished yeeha!!

I have 3 watchers on my eBay stuff and it closes tonight about 10ish I think so I will be keeping a beady eye on that throughout the day. I have been here before with watchers on the jacket so my hopes aren't up too high but they're up a bit :)

Checked my account and I think there are 4 DDs returned. I am v down about it but OH is telling me to perk up as I tried everything I could to cover everything in the budget this month and just didn't manage. We will just have to manage and pay the charges and hopefully have eBay money in the account when the stuff is re-presented. It's v unusual for us to be in this situation, usually I have very little left over but it all gets paid - so I am not liking this but I can't change it so I better just get on with it!

Hope anyone reading this has a good day :)

Oh forgot to say, OH and I did more exercising last night even though we were knackered and this morning our 3 year old was messing about in the bathroom standing on the scales so I hopped on and I am 2 pounds lighter than at the weekend!! It has probably got a lot more to do with the gallons of free water I have been drinking but still, I am chuffed and motivated to keep going :j

    Morning Jules

DD's being returned is a bummer, but your OH is right that you did your best and you can't produce funds out of thin air (if only!).

Your OH sounds lovely and supportive :)

Well done on doing your exercise even though you were tired, I bet you felt better for doing it afterwards. I forced myself to the gym last night even though I had eaten the biggest plate of spag bol and felt sick, as soon as I got there I was fine!

Very well done on the weight loss as well x
