Just a short post tonight I think as I am shattered, that'll teach me to stay up until 1am watching a box set of 24!
Work was mental today so I didn't have much time to myself. I did manage, however, to note that my items did not sell on eBay. I am wondering why someone went to the bother of emailing me on eBay to ask me to put my leather jacket back on but then did not bid. Maybe they just saw another one they liked better but unfortunately I got my hopes up.
I also had time to phone my bank to ask why my balance is showing as £70 but available funds zero. I counted up everything due to come off and I should still have had funds available. Their helpful response was 'look again tomorrow', so that's what I will do
Finally, one of the 2 payday companies driving me crazy phoning and emailing, finally wrote back today to my latest email to tell me I should have told them sooner that I was in debt management as they had no record of it nor the details of the company handling it nor my reference number. Just for a laugh I counted up the emails in my sent file telling them all of these details and stopped when I got to 25 :rotfl:. But at least they know now eh??
Anyway, gorgeous stepson is up past his bedtime so I had better go and deal with him, also, need to decide what I am doing tomorrow, I think a spot of batch cooking is in order0 -
I woke up with the cold this morning which I am none too amused about as we have tons to do today (and a funeral this afternoon which we are both dreading). So I will load up on paracetemol and hot drinks and press on.
I discovered the mystery of the missing funds in my bank account. A couple of months ago a creditor accidentally took a double payment from my account and left me £600 overdrawn. They accepted responsibility and refunded it within a few days. The bank waived the charges, however, this week they took the interest for me being overdrawn (apparently only charges would be waived, but me being daft thought that meant unauthorised overdraft interest too). ho hum, I am paid on Monday, there is food in the house and petrol in the car and OH has been informed he is paying for 'sundries' until I am paid
We did have a good MSE result this morning though as I persuaded OH to finally change his account from fee paying to an ordinary interest paying current account - so that's £130 a year saved :T
Right, I am off to do a ton of batch cooking. I have loads of mince so I am making: a bolognese, a shepherd's pie and an Italian shepherd's pie (stolen shamelessly from someone on here - bolognese with mashed potatoes and grated cheese on the top, we thought we would give it a bash)
And I think I should persuade OH to make me another cuppa to help my cold0 -
Morning Jules
Sorry to hear about your cold
Glad you solved the mystery of the bank account, even though it didn't work out in your favour.
Italian Shepherds Pie sounds amazing!LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

I will let you know how the pie turns out, but I am looking forward to it
OH is ferrying cups of hot to me so I will be better soon I think.

Well it is finally sunny here today. I said in another post that I have had my winter coat on all week and I meant it! I brought a heavy cardie with me today as I can't quite believe it will stay warm all day. The heating wasn't even on for a couple of hours last night to take the chill off, first time in ages that has happened!
The batch cooking went well, first pie being eaten tonight, leftovers from last night's roast chicken dinner went in the freezer to use in a risotto or pasta and there are another 2 pies and some bolognese in the freezer. I am pleased as I expect this month to be even tighter than usual so I am trying to stock up in preparation for that.
We are picking up the gorgeous stepson later on and have him all weekend. Apparently he is going to a birthday party tomorrow, and we've just been told we've to buy the gift. It won't cost much but I hate it when it's just dropped on us, we will now be running round the town tomorrow morning to find something suitable.
I got another email from the creditor who told me earlier this week that I should have told them sooner than I am on a DMP - apparently they have forgotten again that I told them I am on a DMP :rotfl:. I think I will just copy and paste one of my many old emails to them, it is less work for me.
Anyway, irritatingly enough, I have some work to do today and a training session this afternoon. There is something about being in training that makes me want to fall asleep, so a Friday afternoon when I am shattered is not a good call, I will need matchsticks for my eyes. But it is online and over the phone so they can't see me if I do nod off. So I had better get on with work for now.

Hi Jules
I once went to a training course where you had soft squidgy sofa's to sit on, we were all asleep within 5 minutes!
I wonder if your creditor is stupid or sneaky, maybe they think you will find extra money from thin air if they keep on at you enough! I suspect they are just dull though!
Enjoy the nice sunny day xLBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

Hi Woo,
That's a good point, I could swap the comfy chair in my office for the horrible hardbacked one, at least I would stay awake longer :rotfl:
I think my creditor is dull and one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. But at least I now know all my DMP details off by heart as I have typed them out so often
Hope it's sunny where you are too
Jules x0
