    Hello All,

I did not win the Euro millions *sigh* so instead I moved £1 over to my savings account and paid a couple of bills this morning.

Also, updated my spreadsheet, I have now paid off 10.8% of my debt, woo hoo :j

As I mentioned before, I am still behind with Student Loans. I am not entirely sure what to do about this as I do not have the money. I don't know whether to suggest increasing my monthly payment by £20 a month until the arrears are cleared or what to do. However, this morning, I checked my account and they have taken their DD this month with no issues. I am relieved as I was worried they might cancel the arrangement until this was all sorted out. So at least the situation has not worsened this month.

I think I will have a diet irn bru and delay calling them again, at least until I have decided what I am saying when I do call them :)

Hope you're all having a good day,

  • Hi Jules

Hope you don't mind a newbie popping in. Have been reading your diary over the last couple of hours, whilst pretending to get on with work!!

Really enjoying reading about your days, and I have to say I definitely share your enthusiasm for Fridays!!

You are doing really well so far, over 10% of your debt gone forever is great!

Keep up the good work :)

Oh thanks Laura, that's great that you popped in. The more the merrier! I am glad I occasionally write something vaguely interesting for people other than me :)

And I do love Fridays, the best day of the week as the whole weekend is right infront of you :j

I just had to share a great result I have just had with Tesco. I keep forgetting to go and activate my Clubcard account online so I finally got around to it today (work is still eerily quiet).

I changed my vouchers settings so that next year instead of them being paid out throughout the year they will save them up for me for Christmas.

After I did that, I clicked on my vouchers and there were £8 of vouchers that I must have lost or forgotten to use (they were really old and are set to expire soon). So I have printed them off - along with the ones I just got from Tesco this week I now have £16.50 towards next week's shop :j

So I thoroughly recommend looking online if you have a Clubcard. You will see the ones that have just been sent out too but they are all dated so you know when you are looking at old ones you have forgotten about.

    Hello All,

After 3 days of doing as little as possible, this morning I got hit with a packed calender and a very stressful meeting, thankfully, it went fine and I am returning to a quiet afternoon doing my mail.

We went to Tesco last night with the £8 of vouchers, intending to only spend £8.50 and get some essentials for the weekend, however, we walked out of there having spent £32 and having gotten our food for all of next week PLUS all our stuff for work lunches and cans of juice for work for the next fortnight! I am v chuffed. In the reduced aisle they were selling multipacks of cans where one can had been damaged, so for example a 24 pack of diet irn bru should cost over £6, I got one for £3. So we both got loads of cans which should actually cover all our drinks at work until the end of the month. Then we did the same with crisps (Walkers multipacks for 74p because the outside packet was ripped). And I got 39 dishwashers tablets for £1 as one tablet had burst.

So between that and the £8 voucher, we have a bursting at the seams freezer and cupboards and only spent £32 and I still have the other £8.50 for later in the month. Plus, I got a voucher for money off my petrol so it was a great trip all in all.

I love saving money and getting a bargain, especially when it is stuff we actually need!

Hope everyone is having a good day

    Happy Friday All!!

It's torrential rain here, freezing cold, I've barely slept worrying about stuff but still it is Friday and I am in a good mood!

I am v chuffed as I sold 2 items on eBay last weekend and posted them off on Monday night. I always worry incase the person who bought it complains about the quality of them (I never used to until a truly horrible woman bought a pair of LK Bennett shoes off me for £30 which was a complete steal, and complained that the quality of them was below par when the shoes were immaculate without a single mark on them). Anyway, I have been anxiously checking to see what the buyers said, one hasn't left feedback yet and the other gave good feedback, yay! So I feel safe enough to transfer over the dosh from Paypal to my bank account.

I have been given some work to do today but not much, so I will spend the rest of the day making a list of what I want to relist on eBay and what new items I need to photograph tonight to post over the weekend.

Other than that, I shall be doing surveys and reading up on here for more ways to cut back or make money :)

    Have a great day all

Ebay is a bit nerve wracking isn't it? I was the same, always fine with it till one mean buyer! My last item sold has also just received good feedback though so no excuses now!

Stay warm and dry - it's grey here but not too bad.

    Happy Friday! :)

    Hello All,

I woke up this morning after very little sleep (adorable 4 year old had a bad night) feeling strangely energised and raring to go with my debt busting. So I have set myself a target of £200 of eBay sales in a month. I made £20 already last week and I have just re-listed £120's worth of stuff on the site. I have also just composed a list of stuff to list for the first time - it's currently sitting at £160's worth tho I keep adding to it as other things occur to me. I know people have to want to buy the stuff so that's why I am listing well over my target in value.

I am also hitting Music Magpie as we have a bag full of CDs which we both agreed we would sell as we no longer listen to them and we have done precisely nothing with it! So that will be tackled probably tomorrow as tonight I will be busy taking pictures and writing the description bits for eBay.

I have also done a ton of surveys this morning, all with the aim in mind of reaching the targets on each site so I can put away the vouchers for Christmas.

I have also started pricing what we will get for selling our mobiles (a bit premature as we can flog them in November lol, but it's good to be prepared). I think I will get not much but OH might manage £50 for his (fancy dan Blackberry). So that is earmarked for Christmas too.

Onwards and upwards, I WILL make some significant progress in the next month, I am determined!! :D
