The plates Jakg shows in the picture are not legal ............. but .................... it would seem it is not an offence to display that plate as long as it conforms with the rest of the regulations but is an offence to manufacture / supply it.

Differing reg nos. on front and rear plates is nothing new!

Back in 1964, local Ford dealer supplied brand new car (reg no. ABC123) for a company rep. Several months later company gets call from dealer asking them to check the car number plates. Rep is phoned checks car's plates and phones back saying "The last figure is different! I'd never noticed before". Apparently dealer had had a call from the buyer of ABC124 who also after several months had only just noticed rear plate said ABC123.

Obviously the 2 cars were standing side by side at dealer's and the person who attached the plates, put the wrong ones on the rear,
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

Reminds me of an episode of 'Police Interceptors' where a young lad driving his mum's car gets pulled for having the wrong reg number on the rear. Turned-out his mum had been to Halfords the previous day to get a new plate and the Halfords numpty transposed two of the digits.
The driver got away with it.

Seriously though OP, I would defo be taking said dealer to the small claims court for the costs of repairing a fault that re-occurred AFTER it had been fixed under warranty. Also worth claiming for loss of value due to incorrect service stamps (only a 'book-stamper' would fail to put a mileage down). Might be worth driving to this supposed 'garage' and taking a few photos to prove to the court that it is not what it appears to be.

Any garage can make plates up as long as they are fully registered to do so.

I had "Ford Motor Company LTD" put on the bottom of mine :)

Surely you need to print the name of your company as it appears on the DVLA suppliers database? :D

just watched it not about plates but they did do fake euro €50 notes,
it was mentioned that notes from a cash machine will be good,
unfortunately i disagree after getting one last month.
Im never going to get currency out of a european cash machine over €40 so i cant get a €50 note in future so looks like im resigned to high charges
Maybe this needs posting somewhere else on the forum or it might already have been covered?
Im going to report this message to the moderators so it might warn someone else as it was a scary time for us when it was rejected

Just because something is illegal doesn't mean it stops.
A nice little shop in Sligo town will post fully UK legal plates across the Irish sea for €12. And no one breaks the law..
