Most computer shops will have screen cleaners suitable for LCD/TFT screens. The only problem is that as you can't put any pressure on the screen, you often do end up with streaks, but they shouldn't be visible unless on a dark background.

You might get more help with this on the Techie board.

I clean lots of LCD screens. I find green Mr Muscle Glass cleaner (Any supermarket) to be the best for cleaning, with no residue.

Clean with it sparingly on kitchen towel. Rub it in left to right then up and down. Then go over it once left-to right from top to bottom with a dry piece of kitchen towel. Takes about 20 seconds, perfect results.
  • I use either windolene type stuff or the glass cleaner you get from opticians.

I use a damp (not wet) microfibre cloth. Followed by a buff with a dry one. If the mark is really sticky add some vinegar to the damp cloth before buffing.

  • As Tawnyowls says I use the same screen wipes I use for my laptop screen - I pick them up from Staples or PC Work whenever Im in there. I do use my normal glass cleaner for my plasma but had it in my mind that you couldnt use it on LCD.

I am starting to Spring Clean and I don't know what to clean the 2 LCD flat screens with.... 1 TV and 1 computer.

Any advise please on the actual screen itself and the surround.

    Many thanks

I've been wondering the same thing. I do everything else with a weak vinegar solution but didn't dare use it on the new flat screen.

microfibre cloth, gently moisten one corner, then wipe screen clean, drying with the dry part of the cloth
