June 2013 Brides and Grooms

I'm getting messages from Italy on an almost daily basis now with various arrangements and loving it.
Everything is definitely sorted with the venue, transport, rooms at hotel, food, hair, photographer, and all the other bits and pieces we need to do. Just need to find music now as we still haven't decided on that but we will get there. I also need to get iPod speakers so we can play it, and swipe a white bed sheet or something from the hotel to put on the table at the venue (friend has seen theirs and doesn't like them, I trust her judgement!).
We had success in getting my friend a dress, so much so that I bought the same one in a different colour for me. All gifts have also been bought, although I bought OH one and when I got home I found he had exactly the same thing already! Oops! Well he now has two as its too far to take back!

Having a few problems with the ex wife who decided it would be a good idea to just walk into the house when I was away and tell OH she still has feelings for him and begging him not to rush into marrying me! HELLO, it's been 3 years not 3 months!!!! And then, she told her boyfriend that she is coming out with the kids and OHs parents (who aren't coming) and that she's coming to the wedding!!!! First we knew about it! Needless to say, he has now ditched his compulsive liar of a girlfriend (took him nearly 4 years to work her out but they'll be back together next week I bet) and my friend says that if she has the cheek to fly out there and turn up then she will knock her out!

And I wonder why I'm stressed out this week! Hehe

Sorry for the rant on such a happy thread!

How's everyone's plans/excitement/stress levels getting on this week? Nt long until the first June wedding!

Just popped on to wish every single one of you a fantastic day when your date arrives!

Make sure you take a few minutes here or there with your new wife/husband as you won't get much time! Try and have a big breakfast too, I didn't and we had a buffet meal after the ceremony which I had a few things from and then in the evening I Didnt even realise the food had been laid out so didn't eat in the evening at all, I only had 2 jelly beans from the sweetie buffet I did! Lol

It will be very weird for me on the 14th June, as that's the day I was supposed to be getting married! Lol

Finished baking the fruit cake sections of the wedding cake yesterday, planning to marzipan them this afternoon and decorate later this week.

i got married!! was sat 1st i baked my own cake and went down very well! had 2 bridesmaid both of which got lost on route to the ceremony with the wedding rings! and flowergirl cue emergency rings both turned up at the signing of the register where my new husband signed where the bride signs instead! but were married and its one to remeber! was such a great day cant wait to see photos! hope everyone njoys their days it goes by so fast enjoy it!

OH has got his suit sorted, finally we got it in Slaters in the end - it's a lovely suit, a nice medium grey, and he looks fantastic in it To make things even better, it only cost £140 - very MSE! This was particularly impressive as he'd been told in another shop that (as he's a tall, broad-shouldered, stocky gentleman) he'd absolutely *have* to go bespoke and pay about £600 :eek: so it was really satisfying that we proved them wrong!

We've just got to sort out our favours (going with the traditional bags of sugared almonds), and do our table plan this weekend... then it's all sorted! So excited now
