Ok, today me and my friend got our heads together and came up with a little plan, as we and the witnesses are in three different countries we are doing a lot of things online convos and we are now having them all in different dresses of their own choice, but in a certain colour scheme. This will avoid all sorts of problems that could be created. We will all still get ready together (one is the 'planner' and will be taking me to the hairdresser etc) and as it is an early wedding at 11am we will be short of time but we will still manage to fit in a little party while we are zipping and tying and whatever else we all need to do.
Thankfully I didn't have to go bridezilla over it!!!

    51 days, 14 hours, and 19 minutes for me.....yip, I have a countdown on!

Oh, and my friend is gonna walk me down the aisle as I really don't want to do it myself so helping her pick something really nice, think she is more nervous than me now!

We still can't decide if we're having rings. We're both happy not to and don't think we will, but every now again we'll say 'ooooo should we' :rotfl:
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

I know a couple that didn't want them but felt they had to have something for the ceremony so the bride got a cheaply. She then decided after the event it felt quite nice so they ended up going out and buying a nice one after the event!
I didn't want an engagement ring but OH insisted and now I wouldn't be without it. My sister in law chose a wedding ring completely different to her engagement ring, different metal, full diamond band with a different cut of diamond and now her expensive engagement ring lies in a box! I didn't understand this as I completely love my engagement ring and don't want to be someone that takes it off once married so it was important to me that my wedding ring complements it so I either needed a flat band or something that it would sit into nicely. We chose a flat wishbone ring (with a diamond edge n the outer side) which is a sharp cut instead of the more rounded ones that you get now, and was the only wishbone in the shop......I guess they're completely out of fashion now! :rotfl:

    Quick update.
I emailed the registrar a couple of weeks ago to ask their advice on how long to allow for music for signing the register as Herself and I wanted to include two tracks and these would need editing. The very (un)helpful reply was that two songs would be fine. I spent most of the weekend editing music (and currently can't stand to listen to any of our ceremony music :) )
We sorted out our ring vows as the options offered in the standard booklet didn't appeal.
This morning started early, greeting the sunrise* with the priestesses who will officiate at our handfasting (which follows the legal ceremony) followed by trial fittings of our rings, then off to the registry office to do the pre-wedding stuff, order of ceremony and paying the bill. (Details in Jax's thread) That's all the legal wedding stuff sorted.
Conversations with band and soloist has the evening sorted.
Apparently we now will have Herself's niece and nephew at the wedding though SIL2B still won't be coming - if she changes her mind she will just be a guest, since we've made other arrangements for witness and are discussing how Herself will enter.
One failure, the fruitcake recipe doesn't scale well, so back to the drawing board on that one
Overall we're fairly much on track with 50 days to go.

Mrs C....tobe well done on sorting out the extra bridesmaid issue without going Bridezilla :)

Jax you could always get them and just use them for "dress" occasions, but its entirely your choice. My ring will be the first piece of jewelry I've worn regularly in 15 years - there's always a possibility that I won't adapt to it and therefore it may only be worn occasionally.

My OH wont be wearing his ring all the time as he won't wear it at work (high possibility of ripping his finger off!) and I've hinted that he can take it off at 0730 and put it back on at 1715 when he gets home! Lol

It will probably end up sitting on the shelf beside the nice ring I got him for his birthday last year :(

    The day before!!! Lol
As I live at the other end of the country from all my friends now, it's not easy trying to organise something.
The day after we arrive in Italy we are doing all the last things, like visit the hairdresser and photographer and the meeting with the witnesses and officials at the city hall, then we have a day to relax. I'm going to send him off for the day while me and the witnesses chill out with a massage at the hotel, and then commandeer the wellness suite with a bottle of prosecco or three.....and then see what happens after that!

I hope you have a most enjoyable day and that your witness has come to her senses.

The nearest I'm coming to a stag do is the the day after the wedding :) It will be the first chance I have to spend time with my closest friends. (We are spread around several countries)
My best man was told that if he wanted an excuse for a boozy weekend somewhere just say it was my stag do and ensure no one saw the photos as I wouldn't be there.
