Hi all
Janince and MrsC I have added you both to the first post... it's getting bigger now!
It has been extremely busy with things here... unfortunately very little wedding related :P
We have just moved into a new house this weekend so been busy with that and OH finishing uni this week too.
Wedding related OH has got her dress home now, I have ordered menswear and have planned our stag and hen nights.
People starting to pressure us about invites so need to get them out if we can find some time in admist this new house!Saving for our next step up the property ladder0 -
Thanks AL. I posted off the documents to the legalisation office yesterday and they were delivered today (gotta love special delivery even though it costs a fortune). Hopefully have them back at the start of next week then I can get everything posted off to Italy.
Starting to get the pressure from family members about going abroad but if they're that bothered they can get on a plane and come with us, their choice! I keep getting the 'I can't be there' and I haven't yet plucked up the courage to turn round and say that if they really wanted to they could be....apparently we should be doing things at home and then flying out. I don't think it went down too well when I said we'd be standing there in jeans and tshirt if we did that as it wasn't what we wanted so wouldn't be what we classed as our wedding!!! At least we told them before we go!!!
Oh we'll.....time to get the smile back on!No longer ...tobe! Married 20/06/13MFW 2021 #117 £5415.40/£6000MFW 2022 #77 £3740/£3000MFW 2023 #82 £0/£30000 -
I had my hair trial last night at the hairdresser's, and booked my appointment for the wedding day - so exciting!
I've got a hair clip from Glitzy Secrets (which I found out about from this board) - it's this one - I'm having my hair done in loose waves, clipped up at one side and falling over my shoulder (does that make sense?!). I'm really pleased with the style, and the fact it only took me one trial to find a style I'm happy with.
Tomorrow I've got an appointment with the florist to sort out my bouquet, corsages and buttonholes, then I'm going to see the jeweller to go over the design for my wedding ring. Then on Tuesday we're going to see the venue and talk to the coordinator to sort out the final details for the running of the day and order of events
EXCITING:j Married my lovely man on 29th June 2013 :j0 -
Love the sound of your hair eleanora, I wish I could do something like that but my hair is quite short (although longer than it has been for a while) and I'm still swithering over the tiara I've got or going for a side tiara or even just a nice crystal head band. Wish I hadn't started looking at things again! A friend wants to get me a nice bracelet but its hard to match up due to my necklace being 60years old!
No plans yet for our rings, OH has been married before and to him it's 'just a band'. Grrr, need to drag him to the jewellers and get him sorted!
Our documents have arrived back from the legalisation office today, superb service for a government department, I only posted them on Tuesday!
Just need to find a reasonably priced courier to send them out to Italy now for the final stage of the paperwork and then we're good to go!

Ok, I can start to get excited now! Managed to drag OH into a couple of jewellers on Saturday and we have chosen our rings. Because of the shape of my engagement ring I need a flat court so that my ring sits on top of it, but, I ended up with a wishbone that my ring sits perfectly into. I know they're not common now and it's not something I would have chosen but when we saw it, it was right! OH has chosen a titanium band with a stone in it so that it is similar in colour to mine but also more 'him'.
I also got assistance from a friend who organised a courier for our documents, they were uplifted yesterday and they arrived safely in Italy today! Just need to have two of them translated and taken before the courts (this will be done by the end of the week) and then it is all go.
I think we also have our second witness aswell as we had to find out who was going to be able to get there on time for the meeting the day before.
How are you all getting on?No longer ...tobe! Married 20/06/13MFW 2021 #117 £5415.40/£6000MFW 2022 #77 £3740/£3000MFW 2023 #82 £0/£30000 -

Good news that your documents arrived safely.
We're hopefully on track, though watching the days disappear at a faster rate than I expected.
Meeting with the band this weekend.
Expect to pick up our rings from the jeweller next week, then need to get them off to the engraver.
I've finalised the design for the wedding cake, just need to bake it - first week of May (and start on the rest of the catering)
RSVPs have been coming in thick and fast, all positives so far.
The only blot on the horizon is Herself's sister, who apparently has decided that neither her or her kids are coming to the wedding - we didn't include her new boyfriend on the invite, she hadn't met him when the invite was printed. Apparently, because she isn't talking to us and we're getting everything second hand. If she'd asked for a "plus one" she'd have got one, but with this behaviour ...
So it looks like we're missing MOH and bridesmaid, which is a shame on Herself's niece, but if her own sister's wedding means so little to her, then SIL2B can go fly a kite.I'm feeling left out as I'm all done and have been really for monthsI want something to do......
I'm pleased we got most of it done last summer. I keep thinking I've missed something, but apart from the catering and the items above I think we're pretty much done.
I'm sure you've checked and double checked, so you could just enjoy our panic as the day gets closer0 -
No I want things to do ha ha, I read on here and think 'oooooo I enjoyed doing that' ha ha.
I can't contribute as it would be - no update from me (very sad face). I huess I can comment on 8 May after we've seen the registrar (jumps for joy) ha ha.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
Nuatha, it was my sister that caused all the problems and the main reason why we've ended up going abroad. No family are going with us, some we we couldn't, some we wouldn't want, some that have explained their reasons why, and some who are important to me because they 'can't'. I've never asked for anything off them in my entire life and they can't take a few days out for me, it grates a fair bit but its their choice not to come and even though they try to make me feel guilty, I'm not!!! We will have lots of friends around us, after all, friends are the family we chose for ourselves!!!
At the end of the day, while they may not want to be part of your day, and it may hurt just now, it will probably hurt herselfs sister more in the long run when she realises what she has done.....No longer ...tobe!
