Sooner! Now April 26th! Had to find a new venue and now I have to redo everything I had already done including invites! Not happy about that but this place is so much nicer and only 4 months to go now!!!:jEngaged 25/12/11 :j

I had my first wedding nightmare last night - I had forgotten that It was my wedding day (as you do!) and was running round late trying to get sorted and everyone was waiting for me! Was in a panic when I woke up - was a good kick up the backside to get on with organising stuff! Scary!Simplify and then Simplify some more!0

oooooo when we first got engaged I had loads of wedding dreams, I don't have them now and kinda miss them :rotfl:
Anyway as the new year approaches I've made a list of what we need to do, I hope I haven't forgot anything, it doesn't seem a lot....-
Make the Table Numbers (made a start yesterday, but getting loads of photos of our past holidays together).
- Make the Post Box (already made the wording) need to add to the box with ribbon.
- Take the Notice to the Registrars.
- Make an appointment to have my dress taken up now I have the shoes :j
- Make the two bouquets.
- Sand down the driftwood (OH to do).
- Buy bridesmaid dresses.
- Sort out gift bags for those staying in hotel.
- try and source a tug-o-war rope.
Couple of weeks before:- Finalise numbers for evening.
- Give a playlist to the DJ.
- Make appointment at registrars to go through everything.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
Hello!!
I was on the forums about a year ago and was wondering if I could rejoin? We're getting married on Sun 9th June, and have been planning it for approx 2.5 years!! :eek:
I need a bit of a kick up the backside now that 2013 is on!
So far I have:
* Booked venue, paid first two deposits, one more to go - this covers all catering and 38 hotel rooms, so all our guests stay overnight for free :T
* Won photographer and DJ package with Your Kent Wedding magazine, so freeeeeee!!! but need to have meeting with photographer at venue to discuss positioning plans in advance and email DJ to discuss playlist
* Booked florist
* Booked caricaturist
* Booked videographer
* Booked photobooth
* Gave notice of marriage - need to collect papers and take to office
* Bought rings x 2
* Ordered and paid for suit hire x 5 plus pageboy
* Wedding dress been sitting in wedding wardrobe for 2 years! bought shoes, garter, side tiara, am borrowing veil from SIL, am wearing Bridget Jones style granny pants under dress, so no VPL. No bra, it's an Ultimo dress so has inner support
* Bought my mum's dress
* Bridesmaid dresses x 2 to be paid for by Nan, need to arrange meeting in Coast Bluewater to buy them
* Won Save the Dates with a nice company, so will wait for them to send them, I did have Vistaprint ones, but I might as well use my win!
They look much prettier anyway
* Booked cupcake tower and big birdcage top cake, need to email her to discuss flavours and colours. I'm thinking lemon for the big cake
* Booked minimoon to Centre Parcs for the day after the wedding, we're asking for money for a honeymoon to America in the summer
* Bought: wishing well for post, mini Yankee candles x 64, Prada perfume samples for men & women, Heathcote & Ivory lipglosses, macaroon bookmarks (all stuff for favour bags), countless random decorations, mint green sashes for the chair covers (provided by venue), guest book, table trivia and fortune tellers, peach flip flops for ladies to go in basket, etc. In fact, I have to stop now or this post will be never ending!
Need to:
* buy Flipflops for men to finish basket
* create favour bags and label
* Buy sweets for sweetie table, already have the jars, also scoops
* order table plan
* order confetti
* book test fake tan - I am paler than my dress!

OMG ajax cant believe that about your foot! Will this set back any of your plans - especially being off work (and I presume reduced income)?
Everything is all good here, didnt do a lot at the end of last year for the wedding as it was all focus on my new job and my fiances uni placement. We got a call from our venue on New Years Eve though asking us to go up to go over all our plans again and see where we are at which was very exciting.
We went up yesterday and basically just finalised a few of our choices for the venues, and we are getting a complementary taster meal for us and our parentsGonna maybe keep it til Easter time or something.
Other than that we went today and booked our Honeymoon! We had a lot of to'ing and fro'ing in regards to honeymoon (wanted something hot, carribeanish, not too expensive as saving for a house too now) and looked at loads of places. In the end the best option which suited round our holidays at the time and our wedding date (there is absolutely 0 flights to anywhere decent out of Scotland other than the med, and then those which we did like the look of didnt suit a flight back for our dates) So we ended up booking 10 nights in Cape Verde 5 star hotel... cant wait to go! Anyone been?
Other than that MIL and FIL had a chat with us yesterday about a few things and MIL has decided we should finalise our guest list as best as we can and let her have a look (let the fun and games begin!)
Hope everyone else is well and having a good start to the new year!Saving for our next step up the property ladder0 -

no, luckily income wise plans are okay. I can't get my dress length right as can't wear my fabulous shoes, sob sob sob, but otherwise we're ok

Haha really you chose Cape Verde too? It was somewhere we had only briefly thought about but it actually looks amazing. We know a couple who went to the same hotel as us last Summer for their Honeymoon and they said it was amazing - it's a massive complex and there is basically nothing to do as it's all just desert, but if you want a holiday where you go and just relax then it's perfect. Got a decent price which lets us pay it off and then get back to saving to move home, but at the same time have a great honeymoon destination. The beaches look amazing and apparently rival some Carribean!
Think we are pretty much on top of everything now so it's getting exciting!Saving for our next step up the property ladder0
