We're distributing the save the dates right away (well - to the people we're certain we're going to invite, anyway) but I'm not sure about invitations. I want to do it early, but not so early people forget they said they'd come! I'm interested to hear what others are planning to do.

We're planning to send invitations mid february. Everyone that we really want there has already said they can make it - though we did have a couple of enquiries about timing from folk who thought we were getting married this year.

Hi Vala, welcome to the thread.
When we started planning, beginning of April, everything seemed ages away, now the weeks seem to be disappearing rather quickly.

Welcome to the thread - I have added you to the first page list so it's now official ;) haha

You'll definitely get plenty good tips in here and looking forward to tips you also share.

And I agree, it's amazing how quick it will fly in... only 10 months to go!

  • Hiya all,

Just wanted to post a proper mse bargain on my bridesmaids dresses - g1rls of eleg@nce on fleabay - had been watching 2 plum dresses for £74 each for a while but noticed that they were no longer in my watch list - went to shop page to look to find they were discontinuing the line!!! - Cue stresses!

They only had 2 left in the size i wanted (luckily I have 2 bridesmaids) and they were half price so after 5 mins stressing I bought them and they have arrived and im really chuffed with them. Both girls had already seen them and like them so i dont have to worry about that! :D

What other things would you buy for bridesmaids? I was thinking a hair piece (hairband, comb etc) and that they could wear their own shoes?

    Thanks for any tips

  • Quick question for the rest of the June guys.... have you/your OH started considering bridsemaids dresses?

MIL Is insistant this is something we need to get done now and has started suggesting shops and stuff to go. Have any of you guys yet? If so where are you buying - a proper bridal shop or high street?
    Cheers

My OH has already bought all 4 bridesmaids dresses for the wedding. She has bought the 2 adults Bridesmaid dresses from the Bridal shop but bought the 2 childs dresses from John Lewis. That and her dress is the only thing she has been organised on :)
Thanks to all that post competitions :)

As we want red, I was waiting for the January Sales, however I've just ordered and received a dress for a ball off Ebay which, for £28, is really good quality, so I think we will decided to go with them instead. My DD is 14 though, so will get nearer the time and my MOH is loosing weight so again will wait.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....
  • Cool - so you have all definitely started having a think about it anyway. OH isn't sure what shes doing yet but has started looking in some shops and stuff and she was wondering if it's too early or not. I guess not really as only really 10 months now!

    Hello! :D

Not loads of progress from us - but we've decided on colours, and OH has found a suit and tie he likes. I've also found a dress I love - Phase Eight Paloma - haven't tried it on yet but hoping to go in the next couple of weeks :)

I have also ordered this poster - we'll be hanging it up at the reception and using it as the guestbook, so people can write messages - then we can frame it later :)

I tried this on in Debenhams (or very very similar by phase eight) and it was lovely but heavy. As we have a beach wedding I didn't think I'd be comfortable for the length of time I'd be in it, but it's gorgeous and very very flattering.
