another update.....not a huge one but i paid £50 off the overdraft today:D

have loads of other ideas for hammering it going round in my head atm...i think im slowly going mad lol all i think about all day is paying this overdraft off:)

well it seems to be going down just fine, still aiming for the 18th feb to have it cleared.....i should be on track for that.

im planning on listing a few more things on ebay this week to increase the amount in my paypal account....once its over £50 then i can transfer it over (too tight to pay the 20p or whatever it is:))

should be able to pay another 100 next week (fingers crossed) but my car is due a service and mot and probably 2 new tyres:( so that might restrict me somewhat.....im hoping not too much:) they are pretty much budgeted for anyway....

My overdraft currently stand at £1,500 OD. Im finding it really difficult to pay it off at all. As this account is my only account which I use for everything, including work & ebay. I just cant stop spending money. But I am going to carry on reading throught this threasd to inspire me to get on with clearing my debts... Anyway,

Goodluck to the both of you, Im sure you can both do it with all your determination..

Hi, Just wanted to say good luck with your challenge. I felt really inspired by what you were doing and as I have a student o/d with roughly the same amount it spurred me into thinking about trying to get rid of this.

So far I have got £20.00 refunded from old credit card.
£80.00 in charges refunded from credit card claim.
    £50.00 in xmas money.
£41.18 from my credit card as cash back from last year
    £103.00 x 2 free council tax months
Which makes £397.18 - gosh it soon mounts up.

    Best of luck Bommer

Well HELLO JD! I haven't been around much in this thread recently, naughty me.

I was totally flat about the overdraft and didn't really have anything to contribute.

However today I had a flash of inspiration and I decided to look at things slightly different and you will see this reflected in my signature.

I will work out what I think my overdraft will top out at each month and adjust my signature accordingly. However not unlike Moozie's weekly spend budget thingy, I will also note down the current spends. So it will be a dynamic total rather than a doom & gloom figure that wouldn't inspire anyone!

I hope that's ok with you...?

So both figures need to be looked at really and it is towards the end of the month that it will really count and become obvious if I have managed to make savings.

Anyway, I must say JD absolutely WELL DONE on the work you have been doing. It's tumbling now your OD! Good stuff. :T :T
