• Hi Boots, most people who just ordered the 'freebie' have had their ordered cancelled and recieved the above email or it is showing as cancelled when they log-in online. Other people who ordered and paid for other goods have either received the paid for items only or their order is still showing 'processing'. One person has posted that they actually received the free bubble bath and another has posted that they rang Avon about their 'missing' items and they are being sent today. However, other have tried this only to be told they would have to pay as it was an 'error'. Hope this helps!

If we all lived to the rule 'an eye for an eye', the world would be blind...
• What should we do???
This is their error and I feel they should honour the order>
Not our fault they co@@ed up.
Has Martin responded yet?

What should you do?

Put it down to experience..........hauling them through the Small Claims Track of your local County Court would produce a result for you if you think it's worth the hassle.

Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.
• Yes and you'd win, but

(a) they'd settle beforehand to avoid adverse publicity and
(b) would you want to go through the hassle for a couple of bottles of bubble bath?

This entire thread and it's outcome says more about Avon's complete contempt for its customers than it does for their blatant disregard for UK trading laws.

Picking and choosing which parts of a legally binding contract they want to honour?.............sheesh, breathtaking arrogance!

I could possibly be up for the challenge!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have just read the entire thread, and was wondering if someone could PM me fill me in on the security issues?
Is this kind of glitch likely to exist on other websites?
Is it actually fixed now?
(Didn't try the bubble bath thing, but have ordered from Avon before. Never again me thinks...)
• was it ,just another way, to get avon books out,to new customers, and making us pay for them, as my sister and daughter in law, also got an (near) empty box with just an avon book,in it , makes you think, or are they trying to promote the new year book, charging us dearly for it, been buying avon from my rep for 23years,no more,..

Hello everyone, i have just replied to this email, and also i have attached a screenshot, which shows the price being - 24 quid, and also the blurb underneath stating

"Adjustments or changes cannot be made once your order is submitted"

I await a reply to see if i will get my items, if so ill post the screenshot :)

Has anyone else actually received this?

I registered as a new customer, ordered other items but didn't recieve the bubble bath.

I'm not fussed - its life.

I really cannot be bothered to write and complain - its one of those things. We all knew it was a glitch and we took a chance - for it to be honoured would have been nice but it wasn't so its time to move on :)
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...
• Well I paid the £3.50 postage so if I get a box containing only their catalogue, I will be sending a registered letter to them giving them 14 working days to provide the goods to which the postage related or immediate lodgement at Small Claims.
