This should be looked into by all staff aswell as checking your terms and conditions of employment do not take what the managers or administrators tell you as gospel seek independent advice
They are not buying a business they are buying the premises & or leases.
They will also buy stock if the administrators price it right.
They will have to rebrand the stores, which would take weeks & restock. The staff will get laid off & asked if they want to apply a month or so later. Not Again0 -

I might take a visit to Focus but not for a few days. I figure the trade price the administrators will take from the likes of B&Q for branded goods will be less than Focus will offer for a while yet.
After weekend 2 it might get interesting.
Having said that what did the idiot lose his temper over? A pack of screws with 20% off or his missing kitchen that he paid £4k for?
A £3 refund he wasn't allowed!!
I have found the people who have spent big money but got nothing are far more understanding than people who are out for the bargains.Arise Sir Martin Lewis :money:, For services to the Great British public. This man deserves a Knighthood :beer:0 -

B&Q wont be taking the staff with them but Wickes and B&M will be from what I understand. The whole B&Q/staff thing is a bit of an open issue from what I understand.Arise Sir Martin Lewis :money:, For services to the Great British public. This man deserves a Knighthood :beer:0 -

I spoke to a former workmate who now works at Focus in Cardigan last night and he said that they all have to apply for their jobs at B&Q and will be out of work for at least a couple of weeks during the handover.0 -
I have had to visit various focus,s in my job for a few years now and they have always been very quiet on the customer front. Guess what, I went in yesterday (sudbury) and it was heaving, ( its a shame all those customers have been staying at home in the past) but I had a quick look and decided at 20% off there was still nothing worth buying0

what a load of rubbish, everything is overpriced anyway-with only 10-30% off (most things 20% off) people were still buying stuff -but not much though... saw someone buying £8 shelves what were that same as the ones i bought yesturday for 50p each in homebase just down the rd on their 'markdown shelf' even homebase have 15% off everything instore at the min..so bit dissapointed rushing down there this morning lol0

It means that the staff have an opportunity to save their jobs!0 -

How did you manage that? I spoke nicely to the manager of my local Focus and was told that they are currently not allowed to sell any ex display stock. I was after a sink too and also one of the ex idsplay shower cubicles which was discontinued anyway and we both and to laugh at the fact they couldn't even sell that!Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you're scared to death.

We went to Focus today to buy a gas hob... it was priced at £139.00, we got a few other bits and bobs eg bulbs, battery and fuse checker, light switch surround and other little bits and bobs..
Worked out, they took 45% off the hob (brand new and still in sealed box)
The whole bill came to £103.....
I dont know if this was a mistake, but we sure didnt quiery it!!!!!!!!
The make of the hob was Isis, if someones interested..0 -
