Another NHS worker (Midwife) who has been chewed up and spat out by the NHS:(
Really pleased that you have sent the letter off NPM xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Sorry, am carp, can't remember what anyone else said.
Need to go to Argos in a bit & pick up my iron. Bought one from Tesco but it was no good so took that back. I was sent from pillar to post trying to return it. Then had snotty checkout woman because I wanted carrier bags. Yes I know I should take my own but my boys use carrier bags at sport training & I line the bins with them so I need them sometimes. You'd have thought I was asking her for her family silver.
My eldest boy is 9 & sometimes he still needs to spit meat out. The baby is 2 & manages everything.
Made scones yeserday They were delicious. I need to make more later as still have clotted cream left.
Noahs, my friend is a nurse & another friend is a MW. Both are strssed to the eyeballs. It's awful.

MiL visiting on the weekend. If you don't see me for the rest of the week it's because I'm cleaning the house [STRIKE]and prozacked to the eyeballs![/STRIKE]

NPM, glad you have put in your notice, bet it's a weight off your mind now! The NHS is a totally changed organisation to the one I started in in 1985, thats for sure, and I have seriously thought about the prospect of voluntary redundancy and if we could manage financially if I took it, would have about £13k left over from payment once the mortgage was cleared...today I am thinking even more about it as I have come into a lovely chunk of money inherited from a family member. Such a tough choice, love nursing but hate the politics and never ending paperwork, and the buzzwords, "strategic drivers"..what about patient and staff care???
Need to have some serious thinking now, do I carry on with the stress and pressure and make myself seriously depressed again, having struggled for 3 years and finally got to a good place and off the pills, but stay financially secure, or take the plunge, pay off the house, and look for a part time staff nurse job somewhere? Or leave nursing alltogether.......
Mmmmm, off to put the kettle on and ponderRIP Iain

Anniestar Just tried to PM you this but it wont go through:
Hi,
I just wanted to let you know that you're not alone and please don't feel bad or that you've failed in any way because tears come easily at the moment. I went through a hard time and I hope you don't mind but I thought I'd share what helped me to get through.
The first was aiming to do one thing day and if I did any more then it was a bonus.
The second was saying thank you with my feet ... sounds crazy doesn't it!! But I still do it now!! When you take a step say "thank" with one foot and "you" with the other and find a different thing that you're grateful for each time and really feel grateful for it e.g. eye sight, clothes, hair, hands, feet, food, warmth, friends, family etc...
The third was reading a book called "Change your life in 7 days" by Paul McKenna ... and I promise this book has changed my life in unimaginable ways.
Really hope this is of some help.
