    Morning all,

Tired mum - What an inspiring and thoughtful teacher your son had. Wish more teacher were like that. In fact I wish I could think of those sort of things for my children.

save-a-holic - http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/2044/dorset-apple-traybake. I used tinned apple slices that I drained for this but I think it will work really work later in the year with fresh blackberries.

Today need to get some washing done (that happens everyday) and get packing sorted as DH and I are going to Nottingham for our 28th wedding anniversary at the weekend. Neither of us have been there before but I just put a pin in the map. If anyone knows the area can you tell me what we should be looking at. Don't want to spend a fortune, just want to explore the area.
We will be leaving DD2 and DS3 at home but the other children and their partners seem to think they would like to come round in our absence, I truly hope not I dread to think what I could come back to!

    Enjoy your day

Morning all we have sun again:j:j wm been on twice already as son had massive nosebleed last night . Everytime we have a heavy rainfall he has a nosebleed. All over the bed.Washed in cold water and soda crystals first then put it through on a normal wash.Blood free now .
Ds3 also has his English lit exam this morn then his PE theory this afternoon. Fingers crossed for all taking their exams today.:)
Am off to the vets with my sister and Betsy this morn, she is due to have her booster done but dsis wont go in with her so I do it each time she has to go to the vets. She sits there as good as gold whilst they do it , not like woofer who decides to run round the room whilst the vet chases him;):rotfl::rotfl:
Was going to do prawn curry for dinner last night but ds was given a voucher for local pizza place for 75% off if you spent £20 or more , it only cost us a fiver so will i be able to use the prawns today for curry? They have been in the fridge since yesterday afternoon in a covered bowl, smell fine.Failing that it will be hm cheese and onion flan with herby new pots and salad.
Thats about all today , usual swish and swipe to be done of course.Have a lovely day all, enjoy the sun if you have it.:)

Oooo forgot to say dd is beginning to put some weight back on.We had to go to her check up with doctor yesterday and she was weighed, 2 lb increase, so she is heading in the right direction.Still teeny tiny though.

very tired here today. i didnt sleep well. was feeling rather icky. not feeling much better this morning but thinks thats more to do with how tired i am.

really need to get this house organised again. have really let thigs slip again. hubby has been doing more than me :o ds is home with me as he is really tired and grumpy. he was asleep by 6 last night and woke at 8 this morning. he is lying on the sofa watching cbeebies at the mo. think he needs a chill out day. i suspect he has a back tooth coming through too.

not sure whats for lunch/dinner. the thought of food isnt helping with the icky feeling :o probably some sort of pasta bake for dinner. ds could have crackers and cheese with salady bits that need using for his lunch. then some fruit.

bitsy - fingers crossed for daisy today

    have a good day all

    Morning all!

(((Hugs))) for Daisy cat and anyone else who needs one.

NPM Thinking of you. Keep strong for this last wee while, it will all be behind you soon.

Had a fairly productive day so far. Emailed a few friends that I haven't been in touch with for quite a while and was feeling guilty about. Have done it now, so that feels better.

Washing was out blowing on the line by 8. Meatballs (kofta) in fridge to firm up, and the sauce to go with them was in the SC by 7.30.
Bin day today, so got all the internal bins emptied, soaked and scrubbed out.
Really missing my stardrops. Will have another look in town today, and if I don't find any, I will just have to grit my teeth and buy it in Asda for 1.88!!!!

Going to give the allotment a miss today as we had some rain yesterday. I have been there most days, have cleared knee-high weeds and brambles from about 2/3 of it now and have planted my spuds and tomatoes. Going to walk into town with my friend while the kids are at nursery and try to find a pair of shoes. Ordered myself some gel heel inserts, so hoping I can get what I want to wear now, instead of being stuck with clumpy big trainers all the time.

Cheesy champ and beans for myself and the kids today for dinner. May bake something later too if I have time.

Have a good day all, OS or not.

Morning chums good luck to all doing exams today .my DGS next ones aren't for awhile yet he has a Physics resit to do and a Geography which will mean he has done five this term and the rest he will do next year when he is 16.Does help ease the pressure a bit doing some early on I think.Although I find it so sad that lots of children suffer from hayfever at this time of the year and if its hot and windy they seem to have even more problems.
DGS Danny's girlfriend Chloe's 21st birthday today bless her and she texted me just after 7.00 a.m. to say thank you for her present .She is a lovely lass and they have been going out since she was 16, Danny adores her and she him I think they will go the distance as they are such a happy pair I don't think they ever have had a cross word.No matter what time he gets home from work in the evening he always makes the effort to see her or at least talk to her on the phone .
Today is the 5th anniversery of my best friend carols death and it seems no time since we lost her .She sadly died of cancer and I am godmother to her two daughters .We met when we both used to go to anti-natal together back in the mid-1960s and we both young Mums sharing lots of laughs and troubles together. We lived in the same road and both had two daughters each .she was a great lady who I still miss very much.I feel for her Dds as she was a great Mum to them both and they must feel her loss even after all this time . Where ever she is I hope she like my late OH are still laughing, as that is the best memory I have of her and him We would giggle for hours about the daftest things. We once got ejected from a 'posh' mannequin parade in Croydon for laughing so much at the soppy expressions on the faces of the models.Still life goes on and today I will be remembering all the good times we had and how we got through the bad ones as best friends .

Hope you all have a good day whatever you are doing and if you have a good friend give them a ring and say Hi today, as one day it may not be possible to

JackieO your friend's daughters must appreciate having you around to share lovely memories of their Mum. Thank you for the reminder to phone a friend. I am going to do that right now.

  • Have posted my notice into work today by special delivery so they will have it before lunch tomorrow:eek:. i was typing it out when the boss rang me yesterday.....I was trying to do a nice letter at the time but she peed me off so much by having the nerve to ring and see why I wasnt at work when I had already sent doctors note in that I then typed a simple one saying I was leaving my post and giving 4 weeks notice from tomorrows date. So once these 4 weeks are up thats the end of the nursing world for me...I had some fab times doing it when I trained 22 years ago but it has been a rough miserable job since they turned the NHS into a business several years ago:mad:
Anyhoooo managed to get DS to school today even tho he had a meltdown this morning as it is sports day ( not his fave thing:o). I said I would go with him if he went in and school had agreed that he could just watch and didnt have to join in the sports. However once we got there and he got settled with his one to one worker he was ok. His eyes filled up tho as I left him but he said he would be ok.
Sometimes I wish things could stay the way it was when he was a baby and it was me and him against the world and there were no demands on him to do things he didnt want to do and he was safe:(:o
Bitsy hope the cat has made some progress when they go to see her:o
Ullypool I would be wary of the prawns having had food poisoning from some several weeks ago:eek:
JackieO thinking of you today, missing your friend. Hope you enjoy some lovely memories of her today
