HMV order

Options
I have ordered 2 items on separate days from their deal of the day bit. Both say on order from supplier. I have tried to call and just been on hold forever to find out when they will be sent. There was no mention of no stock when I placed the order.

One being the batman 4 disc box set the other the Goonies. If you type batman in today it says will be sent out within 24 hours. I ordered it last Monday.:mad:

I have just tried to call the number on say no to 0870 to be told sorry have to ring 0845 number.

I have never ordered from HMV before is this usual? I can't stay on a chargeable number forever.

    I'm waiting for something from HMV but they did send me an email saying sorry for delay but they are waiting for the order from the supplier. Have a funny feeling they will leave it till the last minute then say they cant get it!

    They're cheeky chappies methinks.

    On 1st November I ordered the Airplane 1/Airplane 2 DVD collection, £6.99 which was a bargain.

    It still hadn't been despatched when I checked yesterday, so I've cancelled.

    Coincidentally, the same product is now £16.99 on their website with a promise of 3-5 day delivery.

    I suspect they never had any intention of honouring the £6.99 deal.

    I ordered the Batman set when it was Deal of the Day (for £6.99) earlier in the week and it arrived yesterday.

    I ordered two items from them for christmas presents

    Amped 3 (xbox 360) - 5/12/06
    Buzz PS2 - 8/12/06

    Both items said in stock but when I looked at my order history both items say "to be ordered from supplier" so I phoned them up today and was on hold for about 15 minutes before I got through. I asked the guy will I receive them before christmas as they are presents only to be told am not sure, if you dont receive them in time just purchase them from somewhere else and cancel your order with us as we have not charged you yet.

    Only ordered from HMV a few times but don't think I will bother in future as their customer service is !!!!!!
  • Same with my mum...she ordered a X box game from them...2 weeks later they were still awaiting stock! So she cancelled and ordered a St Trinians box set....at least one DVD is faulty in that one!

    HMV is having serious problems me thinks...

  • Ordered an Xbox 360 game on Monday last week (04/12/2006). Despite having the game in stock it took until Saturday (09/12/2006) to post it to me. It hasnt arrived in the post yet so thats a minimum of 9 days (7 working days) to receive a small item that they had in stock.

    Needless to say I will never use their services again.

    My experiences:

    1) My sister ordered a Cannonball Run DVD for me, must've been early october, they sent out "10 hardcore !!!!!! films" instead.

    We returned this, but still haven't had the replacement DVD despite numerous emails etc. Have given up chasing it tbh.

    2) I preordered Canis Canem Edit for the PS2. A couple of days after its release I called. They said it had been lost in the post, but I had to wait two weeks for them to send out another. I waited two weeks, gave them the benefit of the doubt, wrote again. They said it would be sent shortly. Week later emailed them and they said that it hadnt been sent and was out of stock. So I cancelled.

    Haven't shopped with them since and won't again.

    Bunch of muppets.

    I've now cancelled my order and placed it with play.com who said it was in stock.

  • I ordered a Billy Connolly 6 dvd set on behalf of my son for my OH. After showing "in stock" it then changed (when I ordered) to on order from special suppliers. I decided at that point that 4 weeks before christmas was too close for comfort and ordered from Play.com (which came 3 days later). I get an email from HMV today (2 weeks later) saying your item will be delivered in 6-8 weeks dependant on stock !. I had to phone the expensive line number to tell them (again) that I had cancelled the order approximately 10 minutes after I ordered it.

    Not a good service, it will not be one I use again
