We had a 02 reg Suzuki Alto that was absolute scrap, repairs would have cost more than it was worth, but it was safe to drive. Just drove it until the MOT ran out and scrapped it for £155. Could have got £165 for it but were not quite sure if it would have been legal to drive it to the scrap place!
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

for the record the best way to sell this car would be to say it is not fit for the road until such time as all faults rectified it is therefore sold on the terms that it will be trailed away and get the buyer to sign a disclaimer saying he will trailer it whether he intends driving it away or not

this will clear you of any form of comeback
signed dated and the time put on the receipt of which you give buyer a copy
make sure v5 middle right section only given to buyer so he can tax and you the seller fill in and send of the left hand side to swansea with buyers signature date and time of sale on it
i would further suggest you scan this in case it gets lost in the post too
and make sure you receive the notice from swansea within 6 weeks that you are no longer the registered keeper or trust me you WILL get fined
