    Thanks folks :)

    Cheri - I'm thinking that's what's happened with the quotes actually!

    As for the idea of using the transitions people - it's a good one - although there isn't a 'group' as such at the minute, just one quite elderly lady, me, and two other people - both of whom work full time and who barely have time for their own garden, let alone the community one :rotfl: We still have the money to set up the last community garden - but nobody's had the time to figure it out yet! So not sure that would work :rotfl:

    Btu something to think about - and I might give LETS a try again... And I've got a friend coming to fit the door - he may be able to do that too. We'll see.

    WI was cheery - quite crowded in there this morning!

    Going to see Harry Potter later :D:D:D:D:D

    Commiserations on the camping fiasco - though by last night's experience, you were better off at home. We were snug in the caravan but the hooley (Pippi's word for gale and much nicer) blew down DHs weather station in a fit of temper:eek: He was a bit sad today but knows he can't complain too much as I told him it needed guying. The last thing he wanted was me saying "told you so." :cool:

    However, it is like the last verse of this now and we are thinking of heading out.

    I wondered about the 'don't want the job' quotes as well. Been there, done that:mad: I think you need to find a one man band handyman does everything and anything. We've got one along the road and, when a radiator started leaking, he came along in his jimjams to sort it. :rotfl:
    But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

    what a lovely man tricia! :T :T :T Bleurg to silly weather though :eek:

    Have got on the case with a friend-of-a-friend, who I'll ring tomorrow. Although apparently he's an out of work teacher rather than a builder, but hey! :rotfl:

    Just walked into town and back with Mr Daffs to watch Harry Potter :j :j :j Managed to avoid getting wet both ways :p Completely done in now :eek:

    what a lovely man tricia! :T :T :T He is and will do anything from gardens to roofs - every neighborhood should have one!Bleurg to silly weather though :eek: Indeed, though I've got some lovely photos of sunset fire and silver linings!

    Harry Potter was FAB tricia :T :T :T But then I'm a big kid and have loved the entire thing :p Had a great time. Mr Daffs hasn't read any of the books, and has managed to spend several years avoiding hearing what happened at the end, so it was nice to finally be able to talk about it and fill in all the details he hasn't wanted to know all the way along :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Probably about 5 miles round trip walk - not too far, but ALL uphill on the way back, I would have got the bus if it was just me :p

    So - it's raining again, and I'm *quite* glad I'm not in a tent :p (although a bit jealous that all our friends are there and we're not!).

    Today is mostly going to involve - finding and putting away all camping equipment, washing dishes, drinking tea and eating poached eggs in cafes, buying underwear, and having my ear pierced again :p

    :D

    Back now :D

    I REALLY need several NSDs in a row now :eek: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Tried on LOTs of underwear :D Debenhams are having a sale on - lots of lovely decent sized bras for £6 or £7 :eek: Unfortunately none of them fit - and I did try on several in all manner of izes because the styles all seemed to be different... Ah well, got a couple of pairs of lovely reduced posh knickers instead :j :j

    Then, bizarrely, popped into M&S at the last minute - VERY rarely buy anything from there after falling out with them a long time ago (over a bra fitting incident...). But tried one on on the off chance, and it fit! :T :T And was very lovely, so I splashed out on a pair of matching knickers too :D So £26 for a top half and 3 bottom halfs - not tooooo bad :o

    Sooooooo, mission for the next hour or so...

    * cut up potatoes for slimming world chips :D
    * boil up lentils and rice for roast thing
    * shred :eek: :rotfl: :rotfl:
    * put stuff in oven
    * tidy up
    * shower
    * eat :D

    Then there might be a little checking of internet banking... Bleurgh!

    Morning - sorry to hear you didn't get camping (we didn't either, but that was down to our own lack of organisation rather than cars going bang :o)

    Meetings in polytunnels sound rather wonderful :)

    gosh I've been quiet in here these past couple of days! :eek: Must rectify that :p

    So - just been to hospital. Blood tests looking better, got more tablets to take (must remember to pick up from docs tomorrow!), and got to sit tight and wait for a couple of appointment letters. I imagine the one with the surgeon is going to be plonked right in the middle of my holidays :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Bought a cash book on the way home - going to keep a spending diary for the last two weeks of July, and then sit down and redo budget for August based on what it says :eek: :eek: Already rather :eek: and it's only been an hour! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Thought I'd broken computer cos the plug wouldn't work even after I changed fuse :eek: envisaged having to add 'new laptop' to spending diary on first day :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Fortunately, a cup of tea and then a rummage in some drawers found me the old plug - which works fine. Phew!

    So - today is going to be a busy one. Lots of work to do, and mother is arriving tonight ready for graduation tomorrow, so lots of housey things to do to:

    WORK:
    - make another round of scary phone calls
    - findings report
    - summary chart
    - email re chasing people
    - (assorted other bits, but they're they important ones that NEED doing today!)

    HOME:
    - washing (including towels)
    - washing up :rotfl:
    - hoover downstairs and attic
    - create bed in attic (bedding, and bed, is everywhere after camping fiasco - some in car, some in our bedroom, some at friend's house...)

    OTHER:
    - collect robes between 4.30 til 6
    - run?! (maybe not! :rotfl)
    - shower
    - dye shoes (can be done this evening while mum is here)

    Mum's arriving about 6 ish I think, so, er, 6.5 hours to go... :eek: :eek: She'll be making her own bed at this point - or sleeping on the sofa :p
