Would love to Ruby! :T Unfortunately I don't think I know anything special - I've just lived on the income of 2 days a week work for several years then got a rather well paid full time job for a couple of years, so it kind of just manages itself!
My trick is trying not to get used to a full time wage so I won't be too disappointed when I lose it!
Been to office today, so £12 on train fares, although I did walk to the station this morning, so only 50p on bus home. Spent £10 on a present for me and one for someone else, but that was it.
Only food bought since mega shop on Saturday has been 4 pints of milk and 71p worth of applesLong may it continue
Working at home tomorrow, so might try for another NSD (except for flute lesson, which is budgeted for, so doesn't count
)
Oooh, it's December now isn't it? I was going to count NSDs in December! :T :T Obviously I can't count today :rotfl: :rotfl: But as I say, flute lesson doesn't count, and there's no reason - drat, just remembered, got to post mother's birthday present, so I *will* have to spend something! :rotfl: :rotfl: Darn it! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Ah well, can't count it - but *only* that - no food! :T0 -

Let me know if you learn anything useful from me Ruby - might come in handy when I'm not working full time any more and it all goes to pot
Lovely day today :T :T Parkrun (free), put £10 diesel in the car (fine), tried to go to community farm open day but couldn't find it (!), popped into garden centre cafe but didn't like the look of it (so free), parked car and went for a walk in the woods instead (Free), popped head through another cafe but didn't like the look of that either (so also free :money:), then came home (after getting *very* soggy) via shops:
£2.10 newspaper (but that's provided my entertainment for the whole afternoon so not toooo bad)
£1.00 sparkly advent calendar (knew I'd find a non-chocolate, non-disney one that didn't cost a fiver somewhere! :T Hooray for cheap local chemists!)
£3.00 (ish) on a nice loaf and a couple of cakes (well, we didn't get to the WI this morning...)
£4 on 4 pints of milk and a load of apples and bananas
£6 on most of mother's Christmas present :T
So definately not an NSD, :rotfl: but then it was never intended to be, and I've not been particularly extravagant, so :j :j :j
(quite enjoying writing spending down in here, it's fascinating keeping a paper spending diary, but I find it quite a taxing job sometimes, and often get behind then sit for ages scratching my head and trying to make it add up, so since I don't *need* to right now, this will do and is encouraging me not to spend as much! :T :T :T)
Quiet evening to myself tonight, so also not spending anythingAnd *may* (shhhhh) aim for December's first NSD tomorrow (but no idea what we're doing, so we'll see...)

I'm afraid I frequent another forum too - and have done for MUCH longer than I've been on MSETraitor indeed (although you could say I'm actually a traitor being *here* :rotfl: :rotfl:) And my browser doesn't work properly on there so I don't get any smilies other than
and
- you can see why I over compensate on here!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
More spending today - at a local(ish) Christmas market, although in my defence most of what I bought was Christmas presents, and I was VERY cold and wet having walked there, so it's not tooo bad! :rotfl: :rotfl:
£3 for some local chutney made from foraged apples (and some foraged apples too)
80p for a florentine (I only bought it because I wanted to take a picture of the woman's fabulous cake displayalthough I've just eaten it and it was very nice :rotfl:)
£2.20 for 2 cups of tea and 2 hot mince pies for me and a friend - well worth it :T :T :T
50p for 3 starry biscuits for Mr Daffs :T
£1.49 for a book - present for friend's daughter (bargain)
£1.99 for a book for me from Oxfam (oops)
£1.25 for some thermal gloves (VERY necessary - don't know WHAT I was doing without gloves but I could NOT have carried on without them!)
£12 for 3 pewter snowflake decorations handmade by students at a local college for people with autism - these will be presents for friend, so at £4 each they too are a bargain
So hardly a NSD :rotfl: :rotfl: total of £23.23, of which £3.50 was food/drink for today, and £16.49 was presents for other people. Will sort out Christmas list and cross off what I've now got.
Not too bad at all! :T :T (oh, and I also got bought a cuppa and a mince pie, and got a free fairy cake)
Just going to defrost a little, and then have a look what presents I've got and still need to get - and then maybe do a bit of internet shopping...
(oh drat - remembered I spent £1.80 on fudge too - add that to the list :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:)0
