Sooooo, I'm off work today :j :j :j And a nice lazy start to the morning, waking up slowly and reading, dozing, waking and reading... Just got up and now sitting with a cuppa and the laptop on the sofa - WITH THE STABLE DOOR OPEN :D:D:D

(rather spoiled slightly by someone *Walking past it*   Like right in the garden, where there isn't a path    Daft man, delivering leaflets - but it doesn't go anywhere, so he had to jump off the wall. Not impressed - must attach the gate to something rather than just leaving it lying next to the wall :rotfl: :rotfl:

Also - my clarinet has arrived :j :j :j :j Unfortunately I was in bed, and the doorbell is so bust you can only hear it from downstairs (2 floors below me :rotfl:) So it's with the neighbours, who are now out :rotfl: :rotfl:

And the house is a complete tip. I wasn't well all weekend and had the energy for nothing, and have just done 2 13 hour days out of the house, and Mr Daffs is clearly too distracted to tidy anything... :rotfl:

So - plan of action for this morning - finish tea, jump in the shower, then a very quick whizz round the house (my standards are very low - so it doesn't take long to descend into complete chaos - but also doesn't take too long to pull out of it to an acceptable standard :p). I'll also knock up an apple cake which I will NOT eat to take to lovely neighbours who gave us apples, and who now have my parcel...

Back in an hour, right?! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Well, what I coludn't tell you about woodlice after today isn't worth knowing, I tell you! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: What absolute FUN! I'd forgotten how much fun learning new stuff is :D

I made 16 pages of notes :D (it was only an hour long :rotfl: :rotfl:)

    Perpetual student? Moi??

Then I went and had a camera shoved up me nose. Ho hum :p

(oh and the clarinet's arrived! :T :T But sadly it's got no reeds so I can't ply it - how frustrating! Should have got some in ready)

  • Hi there Cheery and everyone

Glad you enjoyed your woodlice class :D When i read about all the notes you made i thought - i am soo glad i am not the only one who does that ;) i find i take things in more and remember them better if i jot everything down - plus its always there to refer back to so all good really :D

I have just been given a fantastic bag full of cooking apples :j:j:j and i thought i'd pop here for some advice - i don't have the room to freeze any cakes or anything at the moment and we have plenty of cake and treats already :o i wondered if i'd be ok popping the apples and sugar in a pan and then once cooked and cooled freezing it up ready to use as i could fit smaller bags in the freezer :)

Plus do you know the quantity / ratio of sugar to apple? i just cannot remember from the last time i did this :)

Hope you have a cheery day today - i;m currently looking at flutes on e-b*y

Working at home today and REALLY struggling to get on - always something else that *needs* doing :( All my fault of course, but one little chore turns into 15, and then someone (random member of the public) stopped me in the street to tell me how bald my front tyre was.

You know, the one I had replaced at the end of April. And then again (along with the other front one) after the tracking had been 'fixed'  To say I'm not impressed is an absolute understatement, that garage, much as I like the bloke, has overstepped it this time and I won't be going back (unless it's to slap a bill for several rounds of new !!!!in tyres on their desk!)

Times like this I'd rather be in the bloody office!

DDFW - I'm sure it's fine to freeze stewed apples! No use coming in here to ask about quantities though - I'm a chuck-it-in-the-pan-and-see kind of a girl :p
    And hooray for flutes! :j :j :j

    Hooray indeed for flutes.

I would take your car to a local tyre dealer (we have one here who is cheaper than the main ones and very reliable) and ask them to advise if the tyre is bald. Tell them that you had it put on X date and roughly how many miles you have done. Should it be like that if they say it is bald. If not then ask them to cost a new one and put it in writing. Go to the garage you got it from and ask them to pay a percentage towards it but DONT buy one off them. It seems to me that you are right about them overstepping the mark, I would go so far as to say that, if it is bald again, they are taking the p!!! and I too would be very angry.

Apart from all that have you had a good day?

Tyre definitely bald Mrs Moo - you can see the metal     It's passenger side so I confess I hadn't looked - thinking it wouldn't be wrecked for some time yet...

I'm booked into tyre place in the morning - same place as I got them last time (but NOT same place as did the tracking... in fact they advised me to check the garage had done the tracking - I didn't ring them again as I'd taken it in solely to do the tracking and they'd said they'd done it!). I will get a written receipt for tyre though, and possible also for cost of tracking at new garage on Tuesday.

Busy day, and very distracted from work so will have to make up for that. Yawn. You'd be proud though - I had my eyebrows shaped today!  Look proper glamourous now :rotfl::rotfl: :rotfl: Flute lesson in a min, and then lovely friend is coming round to teach me how to play cheery new clarinet :D:D She may be here a while :rotfl: :rotfl:

You look glamourous anyway Cheery. If you get the tyre fitted they usually do the tracking as part of the fitting. Well they always have done where I have been to. Just tell them that you want the tracking done when they fit the tyre. This is one of those occasions when spending a bit more is worth it. Have you got a kwik fit near you? If so go there. The tyre place that I go to give me a guarantee on the tyres for punctures etc, costs a little bit more but gives me peace of mind.

Clarinets, Flutes, sounds like a perfect evening.

Thanks mrs Moo - so do you :) It was lovely actually, in a Thai spa place just down the road, lying down on a big fluffy purple towel in a darkened room with lovely floaty music and nice smells, and someone telling me I was beautiful, I could get used to that! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Although Mr Daffs, usually more observant about such things than I am myself, said he coludn't tell the difference! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Didn't know they usually did the tracking MrsMoo. The place I did it last time only does tyres I think, and they told me to check with the garage that the tracking had been done properly. I might mention that when I go in the morning... Yes I have got a Kwik Fit, but was warned off them - will give them a go after this if (heaven forbid!) I end up in a similar position...

    Lesson was cheery!
