  • I am LOVING hearing all about the musical adventures on here! how exciting!

I took my harp to the open mic night at a pub in town last week, stuck my head round the door and the host said "oh no, you again! what have you brought this time" so I said jokingly the ukulele :rotfl: but actually I have been thinking I really, really, fancy one as it would be a brilliant contrast to a 40kg 6'4" harp :D and apparently it's quite easy to pick enough up quite quickly to be able to play with others :j

next thing I see the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain are on in Noriwch in November (if you have never heard their rendition of Smells Like Teen Spirit you must get on youtube!). It's a sign I tell you!

hurrah for getting stuck in and losing all that classical training inhibition gubbins :D

I am inspired. And now on the hunt for a ukulele..... started writing a little song in my head and this would be a much better choice of instrument than the harp for this particular song!

sorry to hear about your A&E dramas Cheery - my dad had something similar last year. turned out it was a problem with some blood testing equipment as there were 10 other people from his doctor's all in A&E having been called in urgently for abnormal levels of whatever it was  could also have been quite serious in his case too, thankfully it wasn't but you can never leave it to chance I feel.

Hope you feel much better in body soon :) and it becomes as cheery as the rest of you! :T

Thanks lionhearted girl! :T :T Go for it with the ukelele :D Strangely enough Mr Daffs occasionally plays with a ukelele-based Hawkwind tribute band :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Probably not! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

A bucket of coffee indeed. 3 hours?! Good grief!

saxophone plans on hold for today - was getting too over excited and not doing any work trying to make a decision :o :rotfl: :rotfl: £70 isn't much for a sax (especially not including postage) but it still *is* a fair bit of dosh to part with without thinking about it first! There's one that ends tomorrow tea time, and a better looking one ending the day after - I suspect I can wait that long and have a decent think about it tonight :p There'll always be another one!

(very tempted by the green one, but DON'T want to be landed with another 'project' that I need to fix!  :rotfl: :rotfl:
  • I know, I nearly gave the tickets back when they told me! :rotfl: Should be good though.

Sensible idea about the sax, there will always be a few about on eBay :)

Right, I'm stopping work now. Shame really as I'd just about figured out how to do what I was trying to do and got going, but I'm hungry, sniffly, we're running out of loo roll  and I really need something to eat, and I've got to leave at 6.30 tomorrow and I'd quite like a proper wind down and rest (and maybe even a bath!) before then...

So it'll just have to wait. (don't worry, I wasn't working over my hours, I didn't really get started til 11, and not very productively then, oh dear! :o)

Could do with someone else cooking a nice plate of dinner very quickly and just setting it down in front of me, but little chance of that!

(actually - that's a takeaway isn't it?? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :p Haven't had one for so long I'd forgotten about them! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:)
  • Pops a plate of something yummy down to cheery (and loo roll)

Um, how about roast veggies, mozerella and pine nut salad and crusty bread?

    Take care of yourself lady.

  • Oh and I forgot to say, we had the 10p mash, it was lovely and great when I couldn't be ***** making it to go with frog in the bog yesterday!

    Thank you :)

Thanks pippi, sounds lovely! :):) I ended up having, er, more toast and 2 triple choc mars bars :o :rotfl: I'll be glad when today's over!

Still, I've got loo roll and lunch tomorrow (remembered I've got frozen soup so will get that out now :j :j) Got some cheery music on, washing is in the machine, and I've found a paint brush to varnish this door. Could do with 3 coats and it's only going to get one, but quite frankly I don't care and there's nothing I can do about it now if I did care because there isn't time! So one coat it is. And then I'm going to tidy up a tiny little bit (because I'm in York the next 2 days and whatever's here will only get piled on top of so I may as well clean it up now), and then I'm going to try and find the sofa and lie down on it :rotfl:

Grump grump grump here tonight, sorry! :o
