  • Oh my goodness, what I miss by not being online at the weekend! Massive :grouphugs: for your hospital visit, so glad it turned out not to be something too nasty. Sounds like the rest of the weekend was much nicer :)

As you know, I've come to a similar conclusion about music and instruments... and erm, about buying cheap clarinets off eBay :rotfl: :T We'll have to compare notes on our squeaking progress :D

And not to be a bad influence again, but saxophones have the same fingering as flutes..... ;)

I know Squizz, that's why I wanted one :D You are such a bad influence :D But they were rather more expensive on the whole than what I paid for the clarinet, and I wasn't quite brave enough to justify too many silly instruments at once

(there's still a few on the watch list though :p) :D

Working at home today, and I've got to do some washing, and varnish the bottom half of my front door, which is being fitted tomorrow after what feels like about an entire year of trying to sort it out :T :T :T :T (not holding my breath though as he won't do it if it's raining...)

Didn't sleep well last night, up blowing nose and sneezing all night, pah. So a nicely gentle working day today I think! :T

Hope you're all in for a good one (I know it's Monday, pah!)

Cheery, how fantastic your posts sound right now. FUN. I have just been reading all about the Art of being Brilliant and feeling all inspired. I know, I know I am supposed to be working but politics is really not my idea of FUN anymore! Loving the sound of clarinets, flutes and all things musical. When I was at the last night of the proms there was a whole piece on the triangle........... there I go again :) and I thought I should get one for definite. You just inspired me, that will be my fun purchase next month.

  • Hurrah for musical instruments just for the fun of it :j:j:j

At least you have got the message a lot earlier than me. Mr X has several old film projectors which, I think, do nothing except gather dust - lots of dust - in nooks and crannies. :(

I've only really just caught on to that sort of collecting things and, when we were in Ludlow, we saw a man making gorgeous shopping baskets. I don't need a shopping basket but they were so lovely, Mr X insisted on buying one for me and it sits in the hall and I stroke it every now and then.:j:j

A very Cheery post that was.
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

Ohh goodness me, didn't mean to inspire a whole load of unnecessary cheery purchases! :rotfl: :rotfl: This is supposed to be a moneysaving forum after all! :rotfl: :rotfl:

(although I do think there's a difference between mindless money spending on something that won't bring you much pleasure in the long run and something that will make your whole body smile every time you look at it :D)

Which is why I'm about to bid on a saxophone as well :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
