Brother and SIL are going to a wedding on Tuesday (who gets married on a Tuesday??)

I asked this question when someone I know said that they have 2 weddings to go to for the next 2 Tuesdays!! I think it's a two-fold cost thing 1. cheaper than at the weekend and 2. only close family and friends will take the day off so fewer numbers :rotfl:

I'm here in a lurking sort of way, feeling a bit less uptight about the job problems and have done my planning for the week so that's all sorted, all I need to do now is fly in the evenings when I get in from work!!!

Have caught up with the washing today so OH can iron tomorrow, need to hoover but DD was in bed all day (she works nights) so that has had to wait.

Right off for an earlyish night

Kipling so sorry to hear of your Mum's passing, be kind to yourself sweetie

Blue Ellie Start slowly would be my advice and see what works for you. For example I prefer to hoover all of upstairs in one go on one day and then dust/tidy each room on other days. Some like to finish a complete room. Little and often is the key. Having a plan makes time more productive too.

Must do a bit of ironing now, an hour after I intended as my mother has just got back of holiday so rang.

After going AWOL last week I'm in again this week, thanks to all at FLC for the thread.

AnW's mum thanks for the wombles, I know can't get it out of my head, but it did make me smile.

Valli I agree with Piggers, I tell the parents myself.

Im due to start my fazed return to work this week so not sure what I'll get done but I'm going to aim for levels one and two.

Monday ~ Living Room, Hall and Stairs
    Level 1

    Vacuum floors and sofas
Wipe over sticky sofas.. see what you can scavenge from under cushions!
    Level 2
    Dusting, even if around everything
Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe
    Wipe bannister/handrails
Clean mirrors and other glass things that are meant to be shiny!

    Level 3
Wipe paintworks and any grubby marks off walls etc

Clean any fluffy electricals and defluff behind the radiators!
Vacuum under furniture you can manage to move without hurting yourself

    Extras
    1. clear a hotspot or 3!
    2. Clean light shades/fittings and lamps.. and lightbulbs.. replace with energy saving ones if needed!
    3. Clean a window or two.
    4. Wash any smelly soft furnishings!

Gobsmacked! I've been to Friday and Sunday weddings, as it seems that venues get booked up 2 years in advance, but that takes the biscuit!

Toots - wasnt Tobermory the Scottish womble?
  • I got married on a Thursday 24 years ago, and we chose it because the date had significance to us but it was small and quiet as we wished. There can be strong reasons for weddings on any day, not just Saturdays..

    climbs off hobby horse...

1 hours ironing done, now do I do another HHI and get it finished or get up early tomorrow? Hmm, cuppa first
