DS (17) has announced his GF 'can stay over Friday night'...I don't remember inviting her. Anyway, she's here now and has told me that her brother's got his 1 year anniversary with his GF and as the parents are away at a concert he wants to be alone with his GF so his sister's staying here with her BF (DS). Now I know they 'do' and I'm not going to stop them just by being fuddy-duddy about it and they are both not far off 18. So I'm going to let her stay...
Thing is I have asked her, and she's told me, that her parents don't know. I presume this means they don't know about her plans or her brothers.
Opinions please?
Personally I feel that, as long as I encourage them to practise safe sex in a safe environment I'm doing a good thing. But I'm on my own here - just want someone to reassure me really.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

I've got a feeling that isn't going to happen - since they'll be away all weekend the 'mice' are playing...they are choosing to leave a 17 YO and a 16YO 'home alone'... I know they are old enough.
Just warned DD she might be staying.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

If you are comfortable with them at home, then that's what counts. I wouldn't be pleased at being party to any deception, so if it blows up in her face when her parents find out, then that's their problem. And I would tell them that in the hope that she decides it would be better to prempt things and speak to her parents so they know where she is.
I would have let DD1 have her boyfriend over occasionally (despite coming to detest the whining, over possessive prat) if she'd had her own room.
I only said no (which kicked off the shtstorm of boblical proportions, along with her not attending college, that led to her going to live at her father's and treat him with pretty much as much contempt as me) because she shared with her sister and still wanted him to stay.
But then again, DD1 still hates me, so what do I know?I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0
