So in the end, if they refuse it...And it's my only way of payment, which, on the Royal Mint website it does state that two parties can negotiate / accept any currency etc... Would a judge really side with them? - After all, I DID offer payment,0

If you came in and i worked in a Petrol station and wanted to pay in pennies i would make you wait till i counted every single one. I would also stop counting to serve other customers, If it takes hours then its your time wasted because you never cashed them up in the first place.Jan Wins: .0

Hmm, all too often on here you have people complaining when ultimately their own attitude was to blame. Your sig says this "Bad customer service is up there with cancer! - Probably even higher!"
Personally I think that's quite distasteful. However I was saying many people who complain about service ultimately seem to have themselves to blame, you starting a thread about being as awkward as you can seems to support this. Maybe you're the cause of your own sig?0 -
try your local town/city's natwest - the one here in stockport has a coinstar-style machine where you can dump your coins into and it deposits it straight into your account. takes no time at all and is completely free of chargehelpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
Having worked in a BP garage, I know that we always had to cash up our tills at the end of our shift. We had a counting machine in the office which would weigh our coins to save us time.
So if you came into my garage, I would have no quarms about accepting your copper, but they don't have these machines in each garage, and they may not always be available to ordinary staff, so during normal working hours may be better as a manager is more likely to be in, and most likely to have on in the office.
Good luck0 -

Unless BP garages have huge tills, how are we going to fit all those coins in the till? Our tills can hold a £2 or £3 of each at a push.
If you did that I would send you off to the cashstar in the main shop, if you drove off I would quiet happily phone the Police and let them deal with it.
You've even pointed it out from the Royal Mints site. What is pi? Where did it come from?0
