Did you have a Morgan Stanley/Goldfish card? Barclaycard took those over some while back.

Or a Monument card? Barclaycard were behind those until 2007.

    OK

print that record off and keep it, because you need proof.

Write to Barclaycard data Compliance Officer and ask for evidence that this is your card.
So if they cant provide evidence is that it its over?

And what would count as evidence exactly?

OK. Thought I'd better just check before the thread progresses too far.

I have now sent the Statue Barred letter to them by recorded delivery (and email) and cancelled my payment. Only problem is I then received this reply.

    Dear Mr. Hall,

We have a small query here. We see that you are already on a payment arrangement with the company ,however you are still denying any knowledge of this debt.

Please let us know if this has been sent in error or you want us to look into this request.

    Kind Regards,
    Accounts Manager

How do i reply to this now??

I also receive a letter headed confimation of payment plan.

Which states if i cancel this payment i will be charged hundreds of £££s.

If you remember from my previous post i spoke to a woman on friday who scared me into thinking that if no payment were set up then i would have a ccj within 3 days. (which i now know not possible). I explained this is not my debt she insisted it was i said i still dont agree send me proof. To which she replied by time you get the proof it will be in court you must set up payment plan now. This was all done over the phone. But i then cancelled my debit card after getting advice to do so off yourself and sent the SB letter.

    Ok

So ignore that telephone call on Friday,

Once a debt is statute barred it remains statute barred for ever, even if you set up a payment arrangment, or make a payment.

What does worry me is that they seem to think you are going to pay more. Have you checked with your bank that they have not set up a continuous payment authority against your account?

No ive not checked with my bank but all i gave them was my card details not account number.

Ive not informed them of the fact im not paying i think thats why they are confused i just cancelled my card with the bank.

Do i now respond and say Ive cancelled payment because i beleive this to be statue barred?

I would ignore them for a bit; wait until they realise they cannot get the money.
