Hello
I looked into Be a while back, but they werent available until recently around hee so am looking into it more seriously.
They seem to have got good reviews on "thinkbroadband", but i was wondering about the wirless modem - i currently have a usb modem, and i would like to set up a wireless internet situation, without having to turn the pc on
(not superb terminology i know!)
Would i need other equipment? I was under the impression, i needed a "wireless adsl modem router"? and since this is a wireless modem, i am assuming i need other equipment
Am currently with pipex, with unlimited downloads, but looking to cut costs, we dont download that much and 4gb (at a push) woud be ok, sometimes you have to sacrifice price for service/quality and £14pm is about £10 cheaper than what we're paying at the moment.
Any views much appreciated.0 -

- You get supplied a Speedtouch 716WL/780WL, which is a wireless ADSL2+ modem/router. If you want to connect wirlessly, then you'll just need to get a wireless adapter for your PC.DonkeyKong77 wrote:...Would i need other equipment? You're already using an ADSL2+ provider I see - you should get a fair bit more, as your SNR margin is at 14.1dB; at most I'd expect to see it at 12dB, but I'm used to having 3-6dB SNR margin which if your line would support, you should see an increased sync rate.maniac886 wrote:I am not with BE but can i increase my speed any more....here are my stats:

Thanks for that, I have just realised that I am on a 'fast profile' which bulldog have put me on as this is better for online gaming as it gives me a low ping. Thats prob why I have the lower speed."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,

I am currently with Nildram om 8mb max. I currently get speeds of about 3.5meg/sec.
my line stats through my PCI adsl modem are
Noise margin UP +19db DOWN +11.7db
Attenuation UP +31.5db Down +56.8
I am about 2.7km from exchange, any ideas what I could expect to get with Bethere please?0 -
With an attenuation that high, you're unlikely to see much increase in download sync using ADSL2+ - if anything, it be will marginal. The only benefit you might see is an increased upstream speed.0
