They're good. My cousin has used them for over a year.
Always good speeds, good pricing, good customer service. I think they're owned by the O2 network now too.
They're so good they even email you in advance to let you know of planned outages (because of service upgrades) or to explain any unexpected outage.
If they were in my area, I'd definetly sign up.0 -

I'd certainly recommend it if you're currently on normal ADSL / ADSL Max.
P.S. I saw over someone's shoulder on the tube when in london last week that you could get free connection - not sure how though...

You can effectively get free connection though, by signing up through Quidco's affiliate link to get £24 in cashback.
I've been with Be* since they launched, and get 18.5Mbps down, 1.3Mbps up - always fast and reliable.0 -
You are approximately 314 metres from the exchange (straight line distance).
so what speed am i likely to get, the service is finally available, despite signing up to them letting me know, but they hadnt until i checked after seeing this thread!0 -

If you have ADSL already, post your line stats (current sync rate, SNR/noise margin & attenuation) and I'll give you a rough idea. If you don't have this available, then call Be*'s call centre and they should be able to give you an estimate based on BT provided line data.0 -
Any chance you can have a guess at mine please? im interested in upload and download speeds -
2.72 km from exchange.
3Mbps or greater via adsl max - according to bt.
Attenuation (dB) Local 47.5
Remote 29.5
SNR Margin (dB) Local 22.5
Remote 11
Attenuation & SNR Margin is based on my current 1Mbps (1152kpbs down,288kbps up) from tesco adsl, using a voyager 105 usb modem.0 -
I'd say around 4-5.5Mbps using ADSL, and only a bit more say up to 7Mbps using ADSL2+.0

Thanks mhendo, i think i will give be a try.0

When reading this thread last night I thought I would check out what I would be able to get when the local exchange was enabled in June.
It seems to be very hit and miss this estimating the line speed.
On this line which is 3.4kms from the exchange (BT Engineer confirmed this), BT say that I could get upto 2mb (based on telephone number, used to be 4.5mb before I changed my number), 4.5mb (based on post code) and my actual throughput is 6.5mb downstream and 0.48mb upstream with a current synchronization speed of 7552.
I phoned BE to see what I would be able to get on their platform and they quoted the following figures based on my telephone number. 7.6mb downstream and 0.9mb upstream. What I thought was very strange however was the fact that they were quoting my line length as 2.5kms.
If anybody is able to provide a more accurate picture of what I am able to get I would be very grateful. Also, could someone tell me what steps I need to take to actually get the correct information for telephone number/line length inputted into the BT database because the discrepancy between the rate my telephone number says I should be able to get, the rate my postcode says I should be able to get and the speed I actually get is worrying to say the least.
My line stats from the netgear router are:-
Downstream
Synchronization Speed 7552
Line attenuation 36
Noise Margin 5
Upstream
Synchronization Speed 448
Line attenuation 10.5
Noise 24
Any advice would be appreciated.0 -
You don't have much noise on the line, and are getting about the best sync you can expect with that line attenuation. If you were on ADSL2+, you'd be looking at a sync of around 10.5-12Mbps. Based on the fact that you have a 7.5Mbps sync on ADSL, I'd say you'll be closer to the 11.5-12Mbps end.
BT's checker is always conservative, and 9 times out of 10 will give an estimate lower than what you will actually receive. You don't need to contact anyone to get the checker sorted, as what difference does it make?
The reason there is a difference between the phone number and post code data, is the phone number identifies your individual line and therefore has specific characteristics associated, whereas the post code could be associated with up to 100 different properties and will give an esitmate probably averaged out across all the line data for that postcode.0
