These mushrooms are included in the offer, or they were at my store today.

I don't think they are included - they were last week but I think the items have changed. I have been using the following list and making sure the item I want has the yellow Special Offer icon.

Not that i'm suggesting it of course, or have tried it, but if you look at the meal deal web page:
    http://www.tesco.com/groceries/ProductBuylist/default.aspx?id=L00000445

It clearly states that the Chicken Kiev is still part of the offer, but some people have been having trouble getting it to link-save as part of the deal. One would clearly have to point to the DTD 'promise' behind the customer service desk, should this sloppy error transpire in your store! :money:

In my experience internet details are not accepted by Tesco stores as any kind of offer by them. It is only the SEL which would trigger dtd- this would just lead to a painful time at the CS desk.

No it doesn't - that list has loads of Finest stuff that hasn't got the yellow Special Offer sticker and, if the yellow sticker is not there, then its not in the current meal Deal. Try the following :

Thanks for the insight! .. It's not like it's ever 'not' painful though dealing with them though!.. DTD is a comphensation scheme in all but name ;)

But this is exactly what I am on about.

I bought two meal deals and was charged £33-odd at checkout. I complained and SA called team leader; we went to CS and I emptied my shopping out to show the two meal deals and other miscellaneous shopping. CS lady rang through the deals at £10 each but did not --and this is the important bit -- give me DTD. So it's down to the individual Tesco employee who deals with you as to whether you get compensation (DTD) or not.

Beenie, I read this as: You went through the till, the price came up as £33, you complained and SA called a team leader, who took you to CS desk where the CS lady managed to get the deals put through for you and you then paid the correct amount - am I right, because if so, DTD would not be given

You have to actually PAID the wrong amount and then take your receipt to CS to sort out and you are then given DTD - i.e. it is due to wrong price PAID not what came up on the till that you queried and did NOT PAY

My point was that it that my link sets out a menu for the meal deal saying which items should be available.

'finest meal deal main:' followed by a list of choices.

Some are available as part of the deal and others not. This is confusing for un-savy shoppers. Although as mentioned, your unlikley to have any joy persuading the CS staff the offer is real, unless of course you bought it as an online delivery and have a printout/ screengrab of the page with the meal deal graphics at the top, followed by the'menu'

Quite agree. Makes me laugh the amount of times my wife has said 'isn't that meant to be...............' as we go through checkout. Only to get a painful small kick to the shin. 'No they are correct luv I say'............then over to CS ;)

Theres a little confusion over the chicken kiev.
On that website it doesnt have a little yellow sticker underneath to say its in the meal deal. Yet they still put it in that meal deal section?
