Meal deal came through but Tesco are being cheeky. Asda have Duracell batteries at near enough 2 for 1 so 2 x Duracell AAA (4 pack) in Asda is £3.50 whereas Mr T charges £7 for the two. Price comparison didn't work so I'll be getting a nice refund on those and buying them in Asda instead.

    Other offers to note:

1 x GILLETTE VENUS BREEZE SPA RAZOR £ 5.00 £ 3.00 There's also a £1 off voucher for Tesco so it works out at £2 for the razor with RTD
    3 x FRUBES 9X40G £ 5.50 * £ 3.00
    1 x VASELINE ALOE FRESH MST. LOTION 400ML £ 4.59 £ 3.00
    4 x PALMOLIVE LIQUID H/WASH ANTIBAC+ 300ML £ 4.00 £ 3.00

My voucher now notes the following which I haven't noticed before
*This product is part of a multi buy offer

Just got my 2nd voucher back - same shop same deal, but it's for £3.52 instead of £5.93.

Weird, has the Turner gone up in Asda I wonder?? Or down in Tesco....

    Anyone else?

Just checked Mysupermarket and prices are the same.

Did you have other shopping along with the meal deal? If so, this could have reduced your voucher total, if any of the other items were cheaper at Tesco than Asda.
The comparison is on your whole shop.

WHY would anyone want to TOP UP a voucher UNLESS they don't have an Asda nearby? We ALL know from DTD that what compares one day comes back N/A for reasons known only to Tescos.

There's now no point in buying items double the price of Asda UNLESS you haven't got an Asda close by. You stand the risk of the item coming back N/A

Surely it's wiser to buy things the SAME price in both or if you do want to top up primarily buy things that there is a difference but you can negate that with a money off voucher - just in case it doesn't come back as found?

Well yes, the first reason you give is obviously the main one. Many of us do not have a local Asda. I would certainly not make the 20 minute plus each way journey to Asda to buy my milk for example. In addition of course, even if both shops were within a reasonable distance, it negates the need to trail around two supermarkets when one trip will suffice. Even in the days before this, I would never travel to Asda for an offer as what they have on offer one week, is usually on offer at another supermarket the week after. It's often the same branded goods..Finish tablets, Ariel, Persil, Branston Beans etc etc that do the rounds. I just top up as & when they are offered locally or 'bend' to fit the offers. For example, milk is cheaper at Asda when you buy 2x 4 pints, but cheaper at Tesco if you buy 3x 4pts. (£3 in Tesco £3.25 in Asda)

In addition to this of course, you also have to consider your voucher. For example, you buy 2 meal deals & receive a voucher for £11.86. You are going to use this to buy another meal deal which should yield a £5.93 voucher. If you then use this to buy a meal deal, then you will have £4.07 to pay.

Now, you have to spend the additional £1.86 in Tesco. It's important first of all you steer clear of items cheaper at Tesco otherwise you will devalue your next £5.93 voucher. However, if you use this £1.86 (or more if you like) to buy things you use/need that are cheaper at Asda, you will actually increase your next voucher value meaning you have even less to pay towards your next meal deal, you have goods you can use & you have if you like had them 'free' anyway as you used the excess voucher money to pay for it anyway.

One example. £11.86 voucher. You buy one meal deal & 2 bottles of friij. Total to you after voucher, 34p, new voucher back for £7.13 instead of £5.93, so instead of paying £4.07 for your next meal deal, you will need to pay £2.87, a £1.20 gain for a 34p investment.
So yes, it's very useful to know what 'top up' items are coming back verified.:)

On that note, I think it has been mentionned earlier, but I have had the ben & jerry's confirmed.
