Just been 'trouted' by one CS, one Team Leader, and one Duty Manager.

I asked a guy filling shelves and he went in the back but found none, and suggested that the Mocha Tart with 'meal deal' on it (on the shelf but no SEL) would work (not on website though), and also there might be something on the dessert shelves at the end of the store. I went there and pulled a pack of GuPuds as the website has them part of the deal, but only one deal worked so I paid the full £29.78 and trotted off to CS for DTD, but they were having none of it.

She couldn't get any deal to work (we now realise that 2 starters and a main WOULD have worked - neither desserts did), and after 20 minutes she was all ready to give me £9.78, but not DTD, so I asked for the Manager. She too said neither dessert was right and so wouldn't give DTD.

She tried to say ONLY Tesco Finest items were in the offer, but I again showed the website that showed Gu Puds, but she said you cant rely on the website and stores basically offer different items. I also pointed out that Turner Rd worked fine and it wasn't a Tesco brand. She could not explain it.

I am firing a complaint off to H.O. on this basis, and will see what transpires.
Self quoting so have cut down my original post, finally had result from Tesco CS by email.

Most apologetic, (I wont reproduce it here as its quite long), but the upshot is that they are sending me a Moneycard for £20, so even better than DTD. :j

NB The Mocha Tarts were piled high on the Meal Deal shelf yesterday as they have the printed 'Meal Deal' on them, yet no SEL, and we now know they WON'T work; how many others will have the same issue at checkout. Also over 500 calories each , we split them in 1/2 and easily satisfied the 4 of us - VERY rich.

As for Gu Puds, they are also delicious but I'd never pay £3.29 (normal full price). We also split them in half & added ice-cream as they are only small.

I have one more £20 DTD voucher left to spend by Friday, but TBH can't see myself getting more meal deals as the items are way too high in saturated fats/calories, although the pull of 2 free bottles of Turners and another RTD of £11.86 may be too tempting even for me.
I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing! ;)

Sorry another question - what type of complaint are you making. On their online form its says complaint about what type of advertising, should I put Press, internet or what. I've seen the Price Check promotion on all sorts of advertising so just wondered what others are putting on the forms.

Edit;
Oh just noticed that you are talking about complaining to the ASA, I am suggesting complaining to Tesco (at least you get something out of it), ASA won't do much!

Don't use the online form it only allows 1000 characters (way too short)

Instead send your complaint (Clearly Headed letter of Complaint) to

customer.service@tesco.co.uk

Gives you the full space of your email editor.

Make sure you mention how much you felt like you were treated like a liar, and totally embarrassed in store.

Moneycard will be forthcoming :D

I am waiting on Saturdays voucher :( I put two more in yesterday, so hope I don't lose all three.

I spoke with customer services yesterday and was told to keep waiting, I also had attitude from them despite being really nice and friendly myself. I don't get why they are so rude, they are being paid to do a job by Tesco, yet seem to take any problem personally. I sometimes want to point out it's not their food, I didn't walk into their kitchen and take it from their cupboards so why the attitude.:o
:naughty:
• I have emailed Tesco customer Service but not had a response either from the email sent yesterday or the email sent Saturday. I have also phoned Tesco but only get a rude and slurly person that continues to insult my intelligence. Because Tesco arent sorting this out , I have now constructed a complaint to ASA that I will send out at lunch time if no vouchers have come through.
The ASA website does allow you to expand on your complaint, the first stage is where you give details of the advertisment, the second where you list what the service/product was (ie. the Tesco price check ) and the third stage allows you to type up 4500 - 5000 characters so that should be enough for you to be concise and to the point. You can also add a URL link to the Tesco site showing the exact price check promise made.

I have got to stage 3 but will hold off till lunch time.

Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies
• Tesco have ignored me to the point of annoying me. I have just put a message on the price check thread to let people know what we are discussing here. I basically said that "it is a badly run promotion that has shown all of Tesco's faults, their bad customer service, their rude staff , lack of training of staff when they launch a promotion and how ignorant they are when you email or phone, they either ignore your emails or insult you over the phone.

Now just got to go calm down and wait for lunch time. :D

As you sure - it could have fallen off in all the time you've spent waiting for your voucher. :rotfl:

Cam i ask whether you can substitute the dessert for any other items like a side dish or anything? And is the cheeseboard still working?

Have an old voucher I wish to use and we need dinner for three tonight so a couple of deals will do this nicely I think.

TIA

How many people who are waiting for vouchers from the weekend get the Compare-Failure bit when they resubmit their receipt details and is this normal?

Me, my Friday receipt is not back yet but got my Sat/Sun back weird!
