Instead of charging for delivery reports, 3 or any other network decide to stop offering them altogether. Would you all still be clamouring to cancel the contracts trying to claim it's detrimental and against the t&c, seeing that there has been no price change

The answer is simple: yes. Exactly the same reasoning applies.0 -

Yes, of course. Good enough answer?0 -
Received statement of deadlock, complaint passed to ombudsman. And yes, I'd be just as annoyed if they'd removed them completely.0

Of course I would.. But its not trying to claim its detrimental,
It is detrimental.. If they removed them all together that's
still a change of your contract. Charging for or removing a service
you had previously had the benefit of for free is a perfectly valid
reason to walk away from a contract.
A question to you.. Would you be happy to stay with a provider who
changes your contract at the drop of a hat? Who forces you to modify
the way you use your phone or you will be 'fined' will bills up to £50
more than normal? A provider who hasnt even got the decency to
inform you of pending changes, or those they do inform they dont give
tge contracted notice period.0 -
I've been with 3 for almost 4 years, in the beginning they were great, now I can't wait to leave them.
I'm really pee'd off with them, first they sneakily started deducting voice mail call time from my minutes allowance, now they are charging for delivery reports. What's going to be next?
I've always used delivery reports and find them very useful and an essential part of the SMS system.
But I'm not willing to pay an extra 2-3 pound per month on top of my contract, especially when Vodaphone, T-mobile and O2 don't charge for delivery reports.
This extra charge is detrimental to me.
Hopefully the Ombudsman services will find in our favour and either force 3 to reverse their decision or allow us to leave our contracts without penalty.
Thank goodness I've only got 6 months of contract left. I'll be following this thread very closely.
If I can exit without penalty I will!0 -

Hi All,
just recieved my dead lock letter from 3. Again seems to be a mostly cut and paste job , again they are still using non-core services argument, and that my package consists of inclusive minutes, texts and data.
Interestingly, it states "delivery reports are not part of your contract so they dont form part of our terms and conditions" if that is the case, can they bill you for something which is not part of the contract and /or part of the terms and conditions?
Lastly, anyone had any luck or reponse from the ombudsman service yet? On what grounds did you complain as it says T&C are outside of scope - did you just say its a billing issue?
Thanks in advance0 -
I think I selected billing, but can't remember.0

The thing about this is - what's the point of doing it from 3's point of view?
They will lose far more in lost customers than they'll gain from people paying 1p per delivery report. Why do it when the cost to them is negligible to provide this core service?0 -
I've received a call message from the executive office asking me to call them back on an 0843 number. Yeah, I'll pay 35p a minute to discuss a problem you have caused - thanks 3!0
