Awwww Missy, im sure your Dad isnt ignoring you, maybe hes just busy or hasnt noticed your text?
My situation was different in that my DH didnt work away but I remember when he returned to work after paternity I felt left behind and like he was keeping his life! What the hells that all about?!
I think the suggestion of starting a course in April time might be better as baby will be 5 months old and hopefully sleeping through. My 2 both went 7pm-7am from around 3 months. If your OH was home maybe it might be easier but youve got no-one there just to pass the baby over to.
If anyone offers help take it!!! xxMummytogirls x0 -
thank you honey, just coming on here and putting my thoughts down is helping. It was much easier when OH was here, like you say i could just pass him over if id had enough or needed a sleep or anything, not sure about my dad, i sent the text 4 hours ago, think he was just thinking of a polite way to say no!
I think i will see if i can cancel the course and restart with no adverse affects, i will lose some money but hopefully not all of it! im hoping baby will sleep through soon, the 3-4 hours broken sleep a night does really get to you after a while. OH said he was looking forward to going to work if only to get a good nights sleep! Its alright for some!!
Bless roo has fallen asleep on me and hes just so cute, hes started grinning in his sleep, think ill try and take him upstairs and see if i can get a little nap too.0 -
Yes best to keep writing everything down and not bottling it up.
I was wondering if you could just speak to course provider, tell them your circumstances and see if you could move it on a bit. Seems a shame to waste what youve done so far. Im sure they would understand... worth a phonecall?!
You try get your head down and hopefully you will feel a bit better. Its amazing what sleep can do isnt it!! xxMummytogirls x0 -
I agree that you are being tough on yourself, I couldn't even of imagined doing an essay at that point. Think i was walking around like a zombie! Sounds like a good idea to see if you can start again in April. Even if baby isn't sleeping through (wouldn't hold out too much hope if you are still bfing though you may be luckier than me!) it does get a lot easier.
Hope you manage to get a bit more rest and relaxation.0 -
thanks you two.
mummytogirls good thinking but I've emailed my tutor and outlined my problems, he hasnt replied yet though but I do know he can only do so much and I have had the maximum ext time he can give. I think starting again in april will give me chance to settle down and stop stressing, which is what i need right now, just taken roo upstairs and hes been screaming his head off, just given him his dummy and hes fallen asleep, snoring like a good un!
Zombie that is definitely me, I look like one too.
I will ring the OU student advisors tomorrow and see what they say, oh and apparrantly my dad never got the text, whoops!! Going to settle down with a cuppa and maybe have little nap with roo, thanks again for listening my lovelies xx0 -
Hey missy!
sorry things not going well with course i'm sure you'll get it sorted though
I agree with what the others have said you are being to hard on yourself, just try and relax
Glad to hear babys doing well though thats the main thing and hoping you start getting more sleep soon. I've been ill all week managed to feel a bit better for christmas day but now baby and OH arent well, baby is really snotty and keeps coughin its such a shame for him.
Just cant wait to get the tree down and back to normal now, OH has been taken on permenantly at work as of the 3rd Jan so thats a great start to 2012.
Feeling so tired now think its nearly time for bed
take care xx***** on the road to debt freedom *****
Baby girl due September 20130 -
hey bells, lovely to hear from you! Such good news about OHs job! Poor baby, me and roo both have the sniffles, lack of sleep seems to make it worse though. I cant wait for the tree to come down too, although ive got to take it down myself and we have 3 trees!!
have made my decision and will cancel the course if possible.
hope you get an early night x0 -
Missy,
Instead of cancelling, can you just break it up? I'm sure OU has allowed some students on my course to break it up and they will continue it from the same point next year? Something like this. It's worth finding about it.0 -
hi well, i didnt get much sleep last night, roo was really whingy
. been out and about seeing my sister and my dad etc, was lovely to see them, but somehow makes me feel so much more alone when i have to drive back home.
OH is struggling to get on line as hes finishing up a job and packing everything away including comms
im having a break from the course kavics, to pick it up again in march if possible.
house is still a tip, all i managed today was to empty the bins and put them out, hang the wet washing out and half empty the dishwasher! still leftover food all on the worktop, really need to find the time tomorrow.0 -
morning!!!
well baby roo actually let me get some sleep! Feel a lot better, if still a little tired, but i think thats going to be an ongoing thing lol.
well id really like to get some tidying and some washing done today.
ahhhhh OH's dad just phoned and is popping round in an hour, house is such a tip, best get my skates on!!!
