Missy Moo's Pregnant! The race is on to pay off the debt and get my life sorted!!

Hello........

Well I'm pregnant!!! Only 13 weeks, but had my scan and all is look good :T. But eventhough we have been planning this for ages, it was a bit of a shock, and now the race is on to get organised, need to get debts paid, house sorted, me sorted, OH sorted..... the list goes on!!

Debts: need to be paid off by september before maternity pay kicks in, this isn't going to be easy as have been spending on the dreaded credit card lately :o

House: Well to say the least the house is not at all babyfied and me and OH being aged 29 and 34 respectively have just accumalated (sp?) things because we have always been able to by them now have stuff everywhere!

Me: I need to sort my eating and exercise and everything else out to make having this baby a whole lot easier.

OH: needs to learn to throw things away and erm... be educated in how a baby works!

Right what I need is a plan......erm....

    Hi missymoo

    Congratulations on your news.:j:j

Have you worked out if paying off the debts before baby arrives is realistic. Can you get OH on the case for selling things from round the house to help clear the debt and clear the house ready for baby?

    Good luck with it all

Hey Tixy hun, thanks for the advice.

I think I can clear the debts befor the baby arrives, I think it stands at about £1200+interest I pay £300 a month off, which sounds do able apart from we're going to venice in august it has been arranged long before I found out I was pregnant, it is my 30th Birthday present from OH, but I do need to find some spending money which I would normally put on the credit card. Each month is really really tight anyway, especially when OH is home (he works away) and we go out more when he's home, then there's petrol etc... But this is my target, have everything paid off by my birthday, which is also the start of my maternity leave :)

So in answer to the things I need to sort above:

Debts: I think can be realistically paid off, as long as I don't slip up and put any more on my credit card, should probably cut it up. And to have spending money without putting it on the credit card I think ebay is the answer!!

House: I have spoken to OH and he is going to ebay some of the furniture we don't want, which in turn will pay for the baby stuff. As above I am going to ebay my stuff.

Me: Well instead of sitting on my backside I actually did a lot yesterday and did a lot or picking up and running around doing things so exercise, and I didn't eat any sweets of which I am craving really badly especially Twizzlers, but you can only get them in America and I am desperate for them!!!

OH: Well I can't do much on working on him until he comes home in two weeks, I can't wait for him to come back its been ages!

Right so sorted some solutions, next is my plan of action!

Right so started on my plan yesterday. I was feeling really unmotivated but found some really motivational stuff on youtube. So in my quest to get the house ready, I got a load of bin/recycling bags and went through first the bedroom.

I cleared out clothes and under the bed and beside cabinets, everything I could! I'm a bit loathe to sort out OH's stuff as I don't know what he wants and what he doesn't. But I managed to get a bag each of recycling and rubbish. I decided to give it a proper clean too, as in pulling everything out and dusting the skirtings and hoovering up all the cobwebs that have previously been hidden. I dusted and cleaned down all of the window sills, the windows really need washing but I'll leave that for OH :) . I took all my ornaments down and dusted them, scrubbed everything really, and I hoovered all around the skirthings and really made a good job of it. Took quite a while but it looks so good now!!

Next job was the ensuite. Now although i clean this I usually just swish and swipe and bleach the toilet etc. But when I stood back and looked at it, it was absolutely filthy, with shampoo marks on the bath and mildew starting to form  dust all on the towel rail and pedastools. So I spent two whole hours scrubbing it from top to bottom, doing all the things I usually forget, like the window ledges and the pedastool of the sink and toilet, the side of the bath, the door etc. Then I even swept and mopped, I cleaned so hard I ended up with a hole in my marigolds!!!! Now if that's not testament to how hard I worked I don't know what is :rotfl:. I'd sorted all of the toiletries out previously so that was done, I even cleaned the plugs out (Yuk!! There were some scary things down there!!) and the bin!!! But what a difference, it looks so nice now, lovely and clean!

I moved onto the spare room, (at this point I had to step over all the the stuff which I have put out in the hall to go downstairs!!)which I'd started last weekend so I went through my cosmetics again cleaned everything, chucked loads, put away all of my shoes, took all the sheets off the bed ready to wash, hoovered and dusted to within an inch of its life, but again, the room feels clean now. Everything is so much nicer when it's clean:T

I've never been one of those house proud types but I am starting to see the attraction! Usually I wouldn't have time for all of this as I'm usually at work, but as I've been off as I haven't been sleeping I've been finding the nights I go to bed super tired because I've been busy I sleep really well, think I need to clean every day!!

Thanks lovely Moo. Am sooo pleased about it, keep smiling and can't help looking at the scan pictures!

Well am in bed drinking a cuppa and thinking what bits I can get done today. I'm going out about 10.45 and spending the day with family, so there isn't too much chance to get things done.

    Upstairs I still have:

Bathroom to do, which will take a couple of hours to do properly if yesterdays ensuite was anything to go by! And it has a bath and a shower in it!!

Middle room, this will be the nursery but this is where all of my junk is kept:eek::o. Now I went though a lot of it last week and chucked a lot of stuff out, but clearing out the other rooms have meant stuff that didn't belong in them has been dumped in that room! So I'm going to have to start again. Really just need to empty it. There are bags and bags of clothes to ebay, which I really need to do this weekend, I keep finding excuses to put it off but I have to, either that or they need to go to a charity shop, but really need the money right now, some stuff is going to charity, a huge bag.But the rest is for ebay! So job for this weekend me thinks! I never hoover or dust this room as I just close the door and try and block it out:o, awful I know, so cleaning wise that is also going to take some time!!

The last room is OH's "playroom" as such where all his rubbish, I mean lovely stuff lives! We need to go through it all, as junk has also accumalated, but I will wait until OH comes home, as he will never forgive me if I throw any of his beloved stuff away!!! Seriously you should see this room!

Hallway is just full of stuff and needs hoovering and dusting too.

Airing cupboard coud do with a huge sort through, this hasn't been touched since I moved in 2 and a half years ago, god knows what cr*p is in there, I dread to think!!

I haven't even got to downstairs yet!!!!! Now that is going to take forever and a day, again I haven't been through the cupboards since I moved in, so they are going to need one hell of a clean. Along with the fridge and utility, aaaahhhh the list goes on!

Well I have done a little bit this morning, I have taken some cups and glasses etc which were up here and taken them downstairs, loaded the dishwasher and put that on. Now debating whether to do the bathroom before I go out, or whether just to do the hallway..... hmmm will see how I get on.

congrats and good luck on your journey.
Venice is beautiful. I got given a great tip, don't eat near the main tourist spots (overpriced and not great food).
Hope you don't mind me passing on the tip.
We went in August too and it was a scorcher!

awww thanks shoesy, so chuffed :)

OMG Kavics, £80, I was thinking more £40, that's crazy!! If thats not an incentive to ebay I don't know what is, hence it will now be called the Gondola fund!

Have had a lovely day with family apart from on the way home in the car the glass managed to come loose in the wing mirror and fall out!!!! And it's OH's car!! Was rather impressed that I managed to catch it though so that it didn't break! So had to drive home with out the drivers wingmirror!!! Got OH to ring and he was about as much help as a chocolate teapot (oooh nice thought actually, melted chocolate and tea, mmmmm) anyway, am going to have to figure out a way of glueing it back together, as that was all OH could come up with!! Fantastic!

Didn't manage to do much aorund the house apart from a couple of loads of washing, but I managed to wash the pushchair/pram I got from ebay. Seriously if i had given that to someone I would have been embarrassed, she apparantly cleaned it, did she b*ggery. Seriously everything was covered in mud, and food and dirt. The bags were all covered in stains. It took me 2 hours to tidy it all up and get all the sh*t off it, honestly, some people are just disgusting!!! Has made me really want to think twice before I buy anything else on ebay!!

Well have no plans for the rest of the week/weekend, apart from getting the chip fixed in the windscreen!!!!! And gluing on the mirror!!!! (seriously the things I have to do when OH is away!) Going to get some more cleaning done, even bought some more rubber gloves on my way home as my other ones are a bit worse for wear!!!! :)

Right am a tired girl and need to get some sleeps.

    N'nights
