Am in the bath with laptop, yes I know I'm a saddo, but I get bored otherwise! I have the radion on too which is playing some really good tunes, new and old, so am singing away, I hope next door can't hear me!

Well I've been thinking as I survey my lovely clean bathroom, firstly there is no colour in our bathrooms, the suites are white, the tiles are a sandy natural stone and the towels and bath mat are mocha colour, which is very plain. OH is a little bit against colour, but I think tomorrow I might nip out to dunelm mill and get a turquoise bath mat and 2 towels and a vase or something, just to colour it up a bit. Now in the ensuite it doe look nice that mocha colour so I'm not sure if I am going to change that, but the downstairs loo I'm intending on getting deep purple/aubergine colour accessories, what do you think?

Have also been thinking of a way to keep on top of my newly tidy house, and what I think I'm going to do, is spend an hour or so every night doing bits before I make tea, OH is usually doing something when he's home anyway at that time so I wouldn't be missing out on time with him.

    I was thinking:

    Monday - bathrooms
    Tuesday - hoover and dust
Wednesday - wash/change sheets and clean kitchen, work tops, floor etc.
    Thursday - bathrooms again
Friday - hoover and dust where it needs it and clean the kitchen again.
    Sat - chill
    Sun - washing

it sounds like I am overdoing it, but I went into the bedroom this morning after only dusting it the day before yesterday and there is dust build up again, it doesn't help that all our furniture is really dark, I think its because we live on a busy road with lots of traffic! We have either black tiled floor or cream carpet so you can imagine the state of the floors after even a day! Don't get me wrong I'm not a clean freak or all house proud, or I wasn't until now where I feel like I have to clean and keep everything as tidy as absolutely possible! OH isn't going to know what's hit him when he gets home!!! :) Right speaking of which I best send him an email and let him know that I still love him more than cleaning, but obviously only just!! :)

    Morning,

What a beautiful day, am sitting in bed with the window open, it's so nice out there!! Well I'm sitting here with my cup of tea and my harvest bar. I've given myself until 8 o clock which is when I'm going to start the dreaded kitchen. I'm going to need to do it in a sort of order, so that I'm not messing things up that I've already done, if that makes sense.

    So:

    unload dishwasher
    load dishwasher
    cooker rings in to soak
    fridge
    cupboards inside
    recycling out
    oven
    cooker hood
    appliances
    shelves
    window sill
    worktops
    bin
    sink
    door
    flloor hoover
    floor mop

eeek thats a long list, that doesn't even include the utility!

you be careful, you've got another person to take care of now (apart from your OH)

Have a long lunch break & put your feet up for a while.

And well done on the massive clearing!!! You might (although from things you've said you already know about her) want to check out flylady.org - lots of tips for keeping on top of things AND if you are anything like me (ie packrat lol) when the baby arrives the stuff quadruples!! :D

How exciting about Venice. I've never been there, but would love to go.

Hey Sea, thank you :) I have really enjoyed cleaning, although it has been rather hard going and I still have lots more to do, just need to chill for a bit though as my energy has gone down to zero. I've never followed flylady, but have had a quick look at her website, I think I might have another look and see if I can get some more ideas. Basically at the moment, I am just going through the house room by room, but deep cleaning and chucking out all the rubbish that I find along the way. I really should go and finsh the kitchen, but I think I might just have ha little snoozet first :)

Just come back from having tea round my dads, needed some company and a break, watched britains got talent :)

Well still haven't finished the kitchen, still have the floor, the sink, outside of the fridge and the bin to do. The cooker seriously took me 2 hours, everything was just covered in grease, and the cooker is a double range cooker thing, so 6 hobs 2 ovens and a grill to clean!! I can't seem to get the metal shelves clean though, they have black stuff still stuck to them, and so far I have put them in the dishwasher on a hot wash and sprayed them with oven cleaner, am at a bit of a loss what to do with them now, any ideas?

Went through all of the cupboard rearranged them and cleaned them, have chucked lots of stuff out, things that we have never used since I've been living here!! Cleaned all the shelves in the fridge, although I havent yet done the drawers, have done the appliances, the window sill and the worktops. seriously I was at it over 4 straight hours then I did another hour, and its still not finished. i still have the other rooms downstairs to do too, was going to get on with a couple more this evening but am knackered so am in bed already. Have managed to keep the bathrooms all nice and tidy and have wiped them over whenever I have used them which is a step in the right direction. I'm hoping to wake up early tomorrow and get some more bits done.

Have drunk a lot today have a feeling I am going to be awake in the night for a wee, oh yaay!

Well thats about it really, think I'm going to go sleepies soon.

    Nights lovely people
