what parts would they be.
last time i looked 95% of rover 75 parts were readily available, its only when you come to geting the the rarer v8 that parts become harder to get.
i know that most motor factors will use the excuse its hard to get that part for that because rover went bust and not many people produce the parts for them, just because they forgot to order it in for you. used that excuse many times over when i worked in a motor factor, but stark reality is they are available.
ever wounded why you ordered a part for one with your factors and your screeming for it, they said no probs leave with me and nothing turns up, the you ring them back and they give you that excuse, but low and behold its with you that afternoon or next day??0 -

a lot of suspension parts can now take 24 hours to arrive usually via the x parts route and they are NOT cheap
i wouldnt buy either car at the age specified, just hope the lady with 4 lovely kids doesnt have anything go on either of these cars because it will quite possibly write them off as uneconomic to repair0 -
Your joking right? the 75 is like a jag for ride etc, came top for reliability a couple of years ago.
and a mondeao is......a mondeo at the end of the day
And oddly enough the X-Type is, ultimately, a mondeo. So I don't to see your point. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
On the Mondeo flywheel problems, funny enough its always the tdci 130 that starts, never seen the lower model, the 115 hp bend the flywheel.
I think they over egged the cake with 130bhp on that engineHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I've just had a look on autotrader and a nice 75 dino auto can be had with leather for £995.

most can be got same day, i think the point SB was making that you can still get them in, if they aren't in stock at your local xpart they can get them in within 24 hours.
I'd go for the 75 over the Citroen aswell. I had the petrol version and couldn't fault it for ride and comfort quality. The diesel is by far the best engine for the 75 and you can tune it really easily aswell to give you a bit more power and better MPG.
The people who are generally slating the 75 have no experience of them I would say and are basing their opinion solely based on the old K series HGF problem.
As for trying to compare it with a mondeo it doesn't work. A basic 75 comes with far more features and comfort than a mondeo does.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -

Soo have they fitted a seperate hydraulic system for the brakes on the C5 rather than using the same system as te suspension ans steering.
I thought the o.ly C5 you could have like that was the latest one if you felt the need to have normal suspension under a Citroen saloon/hatch/estate for some strange reason.
The shared hydraulic system(if that is the correct terminology) was always one of the big benefits.
I also don't know anybody having issues getting parts for R75 especially as some parts are common with the 3 series BMW and Freelander.
In fact the other day a mate and I where getting the fuel pump.out a K Series Freelander and the collar that holds it in place is clearly marked BMW.0 -
The only parts that are a real pain to get new for the 75 is body panels. I do believe xpart have been working with suppliers abroad to make pattern parts for other bits that can't be gotten from BMW. Most of the electronics etc are all sourceable from xpart or BMW themselves.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0
