Citroen C5 or Rover 75?
I have been searching for a new car for a few weeks now. I have quite a long list that it must fulfil and have narrowed down to two cars.
Both 02 plate, both have similar mileage, both have FSH, both are diesels and have similar mpg, both seem in good condition and both the same price!
I have looked them up on the what car reliability survey and they are within 2 places of each other, have looked around for common problems and read through owners forums etc and doesn't look like there is much between them to me.

Drive both and pick whichever is in the best condition. Only thing to note on the 75 is if it's a K series engine then you may need to do the headgasket at some point (it's not particularly expensive) - it may already have been upgraded though0

The 2 L turbo diesel engine in the Rover 75 was supplied by BMW. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Indeed it was, didn't notice the diesel mention in op - if that's the case then yes you are k series free0

Rover 75 over the C5 especially if the 75 is diesel as it's not a K series engine..Sealed pot challenger # 10

Your joking right? the 75 is like a jag for ride etc, came top for reliability a couple of years ago.

I don't think I'd go for a C5. My Dad had one a few years ago... it felt absolutely huge and cumbersome to drive, and the engine felt underpowered for the size of the car (2.0 Petrol, IIRC). He also had lots of niggling problems with the electrical systems.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
If those were the two best choices I could find, I'd probably search for the nearest bridge or skyscraper....
If driving isn't that important to you, then either will do the job0 -
agree with sk240 the 75 is a lovelly drive all the comfort of the jag without the running costs,ok not the fastest car BUT good value for moneyI
