Citroen C5 or Rover 75?

Citroen are known to be better than Rover, but I think people think that because Rover no longer manufacture cars. Personally, I think the 75 is better feature wise, but the C5 would be more reliable. I hope you mean Rover 75 Saloon as the Estate ones are known to be the worst cars put on the planet. They die quickly, they stall frequently and they do not do very many miles per gallon (MPG).
But this is just my opinion of things.0 -

By whom? :eek:0 -
An old C5 is obsolete aswell.
If you have never driven a Rover 75 diesel then you need to do so before you comment.
Without a doubt the best car ever to wear the Rover badge.
Had ride comfort considered better than the Merc S Class of the same time.
I had a mate, now a Black Cab driver, the was a fleet manager for a large courier/private hire firm, and he had loads of the Rover 75 in diesel, mostly auto aswell, they were reliable and very comfy, the only issue with them was that some other cars in the class had more rear leg room, this was sorted out with the introduction of a slightly longer version about 2 or 3 months before Rover went the way of the DoDo.
I will never forgive New Labour for letting Rover go to the wall, I feel the same about LDV.
The only people that say their products are rubbish are those that have never driven one, or at least not the late ones when most of the foibles were ironed out.
The only positive thing I have to say about the Zafiras at work are that they are apparently made in the UK.
I have driven LDV Convoys for years and they were a lot nicer to be in than say a Renault Master, they also had a better driving position than the Merc Sprinter, though the new one from 2008 onwards has a driving position almost identical to the one in the LDV, so the issue is resolved.
Getting back to the C5 or 75 debate, it has to be 75 all the way, ever had to fix the suspension on a C5 when it goes wrong?
Though to be honest the C5 is a decent enough car to own, with a nice ride, but in every way the 75 in diesel form is superior.
So it was down to Labour that Rover built sh1te cars and didn't move with the times was it?0 -

Funny how France was Rover's biggest overseas market. You see them everywhere over there.0 -
A friend has a C5 and it is very costly if you need it fixed. A new clutch will set you back big money for example. Insurance is epic as well. That is why they are so cheap.
Rover 75 was a good car, it would be my choice out of the two. The Mondeo was good too.0 -

Labour allowed them to be sold to a bunch of crooks.0 -

I don't think I'd go for a C5. My Dad had one a few years ago... it felt absolutely huge and cumbersome to drive, and the engine felt underpowered for the size of the car (2.0 Petrol, IIRC). He also had lots of niggling problems with the electrical systems.
We currently have the C5, its a really long car, difficult to reverse (I've hit a few things cause it's longer than you think). Poor leg room in the back, the radio keeps going onto economy mode, so you cannot listen to it whilst eating a McDonalds:D. The glove compartment is useless, too small, it doesn't even have a cupholder:mad:.
The driver and passengers electric windows have both failed in recent weeks, the car is 2.5 years old. Cost a small fortune to get these fixed.
I don't recommend it, we are changing ours for a Passat.

Excluding one harmonics issue, I can think of nothing the estate does worse - in fact many magazines said it rode & handled better than the saloon!Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0 -
The only bad thing that springs to mind about the 75 is that it's a tad heavy on the rear tyres (so I'm told)
Buying a frog motor is just wrong anyway - it only encourages them0
