Really, what did you think people would do Victory. I have my own opinion of people that do this, but it isn't suitable for writing here.

easier to sell on amazon, guaranteed payments and all that stuff.

Sold a 360 last year, that was £220, £300 on ebay, sold for £475 on amazon - okay amazon take £75 in fees  but its still the least hassle way to sell it on.

I've preordered a console every year, as i know i'll want one, and then see what the launch titles are like and sell it on if you don;t like the launch titles and use the profit to pay for the machine after xmas when the madness has died down.

Its no different to buying stocks and shares is it? its not like this is bread and milk we are talking about.
  • I can't believe those mad daft crazy people bidding silly prices for a games console that probably costs about £20 to produce and no doubt going into debt for it..

I'm too tight to even buy one at retail price, let alone for the prices they are going for on Ebay. My son is almost 12 and he thinks the same as me (have taught him well ;) ) and says he'd rather wait until they're half price with a bundle of games included in a couple of years or so, like the PS2 is now.

Do it the MSE way! Wait until the hype has died down and buy one a lot cheaper.
I'd never heard of a Wii before tonight though!

I'm with Loopy and Tom, a long time since I read so much carp about wee. Has been just about everything on t'web from "ruined my weekend" to "ruined my life" just because some game-thing is in short supply.

And as for flogging them on eCarBoot - it'll be scam-land on both sides (with not a lot of interest or sympathy from me)...

Fair enough, if you enjoy paying over the odds to be at the front of the queue then go ahead. Personally I always want to follow in the wake of new things, buying once they become cheap. Let someone else part with their money for things that aren't necessary. Key to happiness for me - realise that I don't really need anything.

I agree this is just a post to gloat.

But disappointed kids...you are having a laugh?

Parents could have been queing for a day or two if it was that important to their little treasure. If they wern't willing to do that they could now buy it on EBay and pay the premium for their slothfulness.

    Or

Be told tough luck...its another barbie this year!

Not true - I'd climb mountains to get one for my kids - but they didn't want one until they saw it on the news the other night!!! Once they realised that it was a must have (and also how good it was!) they decided they really needed one! By then it was too late to pre-order. I nearly got one off of Amazon today but it was 'snatched' out of my basket when I went to the checkout and I was really disappointed. I haven't got the funds to pay silly money. Still they aren't too worried - they've told me not to worry either as Father Christmas will make one for them!!

February/March is normally a good time to buy stuff - half the world have blown their pay on settling the xmas barclaycard and companies need to take in a few quid to keep their share prices up. Don't mind the "leading edgers" susbsidising my purchases at all.
