I thought supplies to stores were coming straight from Nintendo - I do hope that they do get more stock, so that people can get it for Xmas. As for children and the value of money, I agree to a certain extent but surely we can all think back to be so excited at the thought of Xmas pressies that we really wanted. My DD 6 told me today that she couldn't stop thinking about last Xmas at Nanny & Grandads nothing to do with presents just the whole Xmas excitement - she's desparate for Baby Born and the Baby Born bath - thank goodness for Boots 3 for 2. She hasn't got a clue what a Wii is but I'm sure she'll love it and OH is positive he will.
I feel most sorry for those who preordered this months ago and were let down at the last minute.
As for those who sell them on ebay, well that was always going to happen - some of them will be people just making a few quid for their kids Xmas.

Will the ps3 have such a big demand coming after Xmas?

Probably. Sony's notorious for massively under-supplying (possibly deliberately, although the boat load of PS2s getting stuck in the Suez canal a few years ago wasn't their fault) the UK market, so they're bound to be in very short supply.

For example, when the PSP launched, the place I used to work for (one of the biggest music/DVD/games chains in the country) put in a central order (for all of its 200+ shops) for its initial allocation of stock based on the pre-orders already taken. At that time, a few months before launch, the section I worked for had already taken 200+ orders, so we requested 700 for launch day.

Sony allocated us 53, due to stock shortages. Exactly the same thing happened with the Xbox 360 and I've no doubt it'll happen again with the PS3. Nintendo are the best of the bunch, there wasn't too much of a problem with the DS and from what I hear from my former colleagues, they're almost keeping up with the Wii demand and shipping regularly to retailers.

OMG JUST SOLD A WII COMPONENT CABLE FOR £78

Thats £60 profit for queueing up at midnight on thursday, will come in handy at xmas.

Just sold a Wii component cable for £78 and I bought it for £14.99 thought it would go for £40 but £78

To all the people I never wanted to gloat but after this crazy price for the Component cable then yeah I will gloat, I pre-ordered my wiis before you lot even knew what wiis where, well September the 26th.

You can pre-order as many consoles you want, GAME Gameplay Amzaon Play PC World HMV etc ONLINE and in store GAME PC World HMV Gamestation Argos Dixons Currys Comet Asda Tesco Woolworths

Thats what 16 pre-orders with abit of hassle but consider it could make you £1600+ is crazy and with the PS3 double that to £3200, from a pro pre-orderer. £3200 profit in your bank for doing abit of supply and demand.

Why don't you use your profit on a course in grammar?

i dont see why everyone is buying one right now,. my wholesaler has said there will be more in stock this week, and they supply to all the major stores,. so all u nutters thinking about buying one for over the odds,. calm down,. there only 179£ RRP if u dont get it before xmas big deal,. teach ur children the vaule of money and buy it after xmas,.

    which would save you

    a) paying overpriced

    b) a massive possibility of getting ripped off on ebay

Couldn't agree more. I imagine there aren't too many people from this board who are paying these prices! The same culture of "I want that now" is why many people are in debt... [Apologies if that last line offends anyone - I appreciate some people are in debt for other, more genuine reasons.]

This comment does my head in. The minute somone either disagrees with you, does something you don't like, or is winning an argument this pathetic comment is throw in

Grow up. This isn't about grammer, grammer is irrelevant in a chat about wii's. You just don't like the fact their making profit.

You need to get out more if the best thing you do with your day is critisize others

Oh, YOU grow up! It was meant as a light-hearted comment. Not that grammar is ever irrelevant...

PS, it's grammar, not grammer :p

Well, I am clearly not going to win an argument about grammar with you because the one thing there is no counter-argument to is "I don't care".

Personally, I find that a great shame, because a clearly-presented case will tend to win people over more than one where simple errors shout out at you.

I apologise sincerely if I have offended you, or anyone else for that matter.

I am not trying to win any argument, or present any case, i am simply saying pathetic comments abour spelling and grammar annoy most members here, and are childish.
