irrespective on the state of this company, it's nice to see RIK back around these parts......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
Unless they've changed, the distribution is in the UK though. Surely there's some relevant law here?
The UK branch of the company was dissolved in the UK almost 4 years ago - it was trading up until 05/01/2010

They don't appear to have any UK distributor any longer
UNLESS ANYONE KNOWS DIFFERENTLY ??
The website is a big giveaway - have you ever heard of a company having a "special arrangement" with HMRC to avoid having to pay import duty ?
And would you really trust them to reimburse you ?
"Do I have to pay customs duty or tax?
We have a special arrangement with the relevant parties, which means that no additional taxes or duties are payable by you.
In the very unlikely event that you are asked to pay import duties, we will fully reimburse you. All you need to do is to settle the amount with the courier, and send us a copy of the invoice by using our webform (select any question under Customer service enquiries here)."0 -

I'm not so sure. Either his account has been compromised or he's decided to go down the route of blackhat SEO.

well-spotted waddler, from the look of it, personally I'd go with compromised......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

Appear to have been removed, but well done waddler_8 for spotting. :TMove along, nothing to see.0 -
Purely out of interest - I emailed SE to ask them for their UK distributor details and got back a meaningless link to a questionnaire - so I am assuming that they don't !!0

Ordered a tablet from them which was shown as "In stock".
After 2 weeks it was still shown as "Awaiting despatch". After another 2 weeks, still no despatch.
Cancelled my order and got it from Currys at the same price.
Now trying to get a refund but still getting more excuses.
Finally got my refund after threatening them with the Hong Kong authorities.
Don't give up, they will pay in the end.0 -
Simplyelectronics are still at it. I ordered an Apple TV with a delivery date of 3 to 4 business days. Its now been 5 weeks. It took them 3 weeks to agree to cancel my order and to date I still haven't had my money refunded to my credit card.
They do send you emails back, promising to cancel orders, make refunds etc but they don't deliver. Think they are based in Hong Kong, so how they can advertise delivers of 3 days I'm not sure! My advice, pay the few pounds more and but from a reputable UK dealer. Hope this helps.0 -
Avoid like you would the Black Death!!!
Ordered a Sony Xperia Ultra. Website stated it had 13 in stock at the time. That was the 6th Jan. since then I have had delay after delay and one excuse after another bar "the dog ate it"
After a multitude of status changes I got this email on the 27th
"After some investigation, I understand the delay was caused due to backlog on our logistics end initially. Your order had been scheduled for dispatch earlier however during a routine quality check it was found that the xxx might be damaged. The decision was therefore made to halt delivery and return the entire shipment back to our suppliers for new replacements. I see that one of our customer service staff was suppose to contact you today regarding this. "
Notice the "XXX" obviously a standard email they send to everyone. And wait for it here is another one
"Rather than commit to a date and fall through, we ask for your extended patience during this time as we seek to fulfill your order through alternative suppliers in the coming days ahead."
The only reason they can get away with what in my opinion amounts to blatant deception is that Trading Standards are impotent. I have contacted my card issuer and am currently going through the "Charge Back " route. If you are with Natwest then simply call 08453660391; they will email you the forms0
