I agree with Bec's, you are doing them a favour by teaching them to be responsible now

Foodie fair does sound fabulous - I love food that would be right up my street. Wow I would love to go to a foodie fair...but I kmow I would end up spending a fortune so been avoiding that sort of thing for ages!
As for kids paying their way...personally I think it's so important that they help out if they can. I am sure that they would be happy to contribute their share!Staring point of debt £23,343:mad:

It never rains but it sodding pours.
Tenant moves out of my rental property on Tuesday, new tenants all set to move in (and were offering more money) - their references failed so now less than a week to go and no tenants.
Agents have said they have someone else interested who can move in next week, but they want me to furnish it. Oh OK then, I will fully furnish a 4 double bedroom house in less than a week, shall I? They are offering £200 per month more than the previous best offer, but after tax, agents fees etc that wont cover the cost of furnishing.

Such a pain - the new people say they want it, but until they sign the lease I am not prepared to purchase the furniture etc. I told the agent that if they want it furnished I need will £300 per month more (on basis I will settle for £275 if pushed). I'll have to stick it all on credit card but if they are paying £300 per month more it will be cleared in around 3 months, and then the next 9 months is all profit to the "proper" debt busting.

Thanks everyone.
Well, I ended up pushing them to £345 per month more than I get now, which more than covers the expense, so pretty pleased I suppose, although exhausted. I have shopped around and ordered everything now, so should be all done for under £1,500. Over the duration of the tenancy that will be extra profit of over £2,500 against my debt. So that's good, but it has been a complete hassle.
Got to work like dog today next two days to make sure I can get out a little earlier tomorrow evening as I need to get in after my current tenants goes to get it all cleaned up and ready for them to move in on WEdnesday.
No rest for the wicked...
Sorry no time to catch up on diaries lately - hope you are all well and I'll be back to normal soon!
