I forgot about Friday joke - this MUST start again.
The Pope met with the College of Cardinals to discuss a proposal from Shimon Peres, the former leader of Israel. "Your holiness," said one of the Cardinals, "Mr. Peres wants to determine whether Jews or Catholics are superior, by challenging you to a golf match." The Pope was greatly disturbed, as he had never held a golf club in his life.
"Not to worry," said the Cardinal, "we'll call America and talk to Jack Nicklaus. We'll make him a Cardinal, he can play Shimon Peres... We can't lose!" Everyone agreed it was a good idea. The call was made and, of course, Jack was honored and agreed to play.
The day after the match, Nicklaus reported to the Vatican to inform the Pope of his success in the match. "I came in second, your Holiness," said Nicklaus.
"Second?!!" exclaimed the surprised Pope. "You came in second to Shimon Peres?!!"
"No," said Nicklaus, "second to Rabbi Woods."Loan - [STRIKE]£6991.95[/STRIKE]£6180.01; Barclays Res - [STRIKE]£600[/STRIKE] £0 - £22 per week , NWB Grad O/D - [STRIKE]£1185[/STRIKE] £887.86 18.28% SWALEC - [STRIKE]£700[/STRIKE] £0 NPOWER [STRIKE]£220[/STRIKE] £0 Kays - [STRIKE]£591.28[/STRIKE] £0 TOTAL DEBT - [STRIKE]£10,288.23[/STRIKE] £7,000.01 31.96 % Paid off. ha - I forgot about Friday jokes too!
How about this then (in recognition of my poorly arm)
Man loses his arm in an accident and is sitting around feeling sorry for himself. "I'll never get a girlfriend now", he complains (and no one will ever want to employ me". "don't be silly", says his friend, "your just feeling sorry for yourself. Lots of people with one arm have jobs and girlfriends".
Time goes on but the poor old fella feels no better and decides to end it all by jumping off a cliff. On his way there he sees another chap - this one missing both arms - dancing around on a picnic blanket. Feeling bad about being so selfish when there are others worse off he approaches the dancing man. "you've inspired me", he says. "I was about to throw myself off the cliff as I've only get one arm, and here you are, with no arms and dancing around like you haven't a care in the world".
"No" says the dancing man. "I'm not dancing, i've got an itchy b*m and I'm trying to scratch it".
OK - not the funniest, and probably poor taste, but I'm injured and its the best I can do.
On another note - just had an invoice for nearly £2,500 from my management company re works to the house. Eeeeeek! No extra payments for me this month or next then...LBM Oct 2010 - £44,665.08:eek: (exc overdrafts)

my current tenant is moving out and so before i get the new people in I am getting some work done on the house - management company are coordinating it. Whilst it is not essential work as such it does mean that I can get more rent for it from the new people (I am renting it to a company) and most of it will be tax deductible - although that wont help me until the end of the next tax year. I also pay my agency fees up front so all in all it just has to be paid now. Previously I'd have stuck it on a card and not thought about it, but this year I have bigger plans. I am going to pay it on my now empty egg card (so I get the cashback), then the first two/three months rent will just go straight to that account (after paying the mortgage etc). Effectively therefore it wont be coming out of my personal bank account, although at the moment i use the rental income, lodger money etc for overpayments so it means there will be none of those for a while. Both my kids owe me money too which I havent been chasing but if they do that's another £1,500 between them so its not as bad as it sounds. Its just horrible writing that cheque...
Then next month I have the landlords insurance and my ground rent to pay so bang goes another £400...
