  • Thanks skyvicky - but it's probably a large reason why my debt mountain is the size it is!!!!

  • well, I'm back in the office, having had two weeks out of London. I've decided that even with all the commuting, temptations etc I am still better off here than left to my own devices out of town! Annoyingly, the last two weeks have cost me the best part of £500 as I had a few work problems to sort out remotely and couldnt connect to office equipment, so I had to buy new remote printer, cables and all sorts just so I could work! Now call me mad, but I didnt realise that when I offered to do some work from home in the evenings that I would have to pay for the privilege! I can probably claim some of it back, but not all of it so I'm defo going to be down a few hundred, which is really annoying. However, it does mean that I ahve come back to a small hillock of work today, rather than the usual mountain :rotfl:

Have done quite well on the eating/not drinking thing this week, and definitely think I am a little trimmer than I was last week. Hoipefully by the time my hols come round in 5 weeks I will be a perfect 10 - ha ha!!!!! I wish!

Going to need to kick som serious debt-busting botty this week to make up for the work expenses etc, so aiming for a total no spend week from Monday onwards. Wish me luck!

Are your boring two weeks over now?

I hope you your money back for the work equipment, seems very harsh that you should be out of pocket!

    Have a nice weekend x

  • Hi woowoo, yep, the train has departed boredom county now, although I fear the next stop is monotony town followed by same old carp village...

Flaming expensive weekend for some reason. I left the office fussy with £55 in my pocket, I now have £5 and haven't bought anything! Train fares to Bf house, few bits for supper on Saturday, trip the the fair with bf daughter and nephew and pfffff! Cash gone...

So now the plan is to make £5 stretch a week...

  • Well I did OK yesterday - as it happens I wasnt that hungry anyway, so didn't bother with lunch, then I as I was about to leave a friend asked me to do her a favour (in my work capacity). Usually there is a charge for what she wanted me to do but of course as a mate I didn't charge her, so she insisted on taking us for a glass of fizz and a bite to eat instead! Very nice evening had by all.

I've just made a couple of extra payments to my loan and B'card - pretty pleased to see that I should be able to crack the £35k barrier next month (assuming no more unexpected £2k bills pitching up on my doorstep). I am very goal oriented and I am trying to work out whether I can squeeze another £197 out this month, which will bring my overall percentage reduction to 20%. I can do it if I dont over pay the Egg, but of course that makes no sense as the egg APR is much higher than the others. Oh what to do...

  • I've done sooooooooooooo well this week! Apart from making the £5 in my purse stretch (mostly due to having a couple of client lunches etc so work pay) I've also stuck stuff on ebay which is so far generating nearly £70 (before fees etc, but still). So pretty pleased.

Day out tomorrow at the foodie festival thing in London - cant wait! Got VIP tickets so there is entry into various VIP lounges etc, which look like they'll be needed in this weather! The tickets were bought from Ticketmaster vouchers we were given as a present from work at Christmas - I forgot I had them so effectively its a free day out for us! Really looking forward to it.

Have a cheap week next week as nothing much planned, therefore hoping to be able to send a wee payment across to Egg when the first rent payment comes in. it wont be much but every penny is a penny closer to freedom.

Need to get stricter on my kids to get them to pay their share too, but mummy feels bad...

Definitely don't feel bad about getting your kids to pay their share of things - look at it as teaching them money management skills for the future :)
