  • Sorry to hear you've been down. I know everyone says 'hormones' but I do think pregnancy - early pregnancy in particular - is a real rollercoaster ride. Being constantly exhausted and under the weather/sicky feeling is going to get anyone down. Glad you feel you've come out of it; do speak to your midwife if it comes back. You have so much going on in your life, no wonder if you feel rubbish at times.

I made loads of money mistakes the first few months (and probably still am) but nothing is worth getting stressed about. I think there's a post somewhere on my diary about the day I smashed two bottles of wine on the way to work so had to spend £15 on others, and forgot my travelcard so spent £10 on a 1 day one which I then lost so couldn't claim back. Its more of a sign that I have too much on when I start making mistakes like that, and I have been trying to focus on simplying life.

    Have a great weekend.

Great advice Cath and Museum worker. I have had a lovely simple day today and really enjoyed it!! (it helps that I am not at work obviously!!)

Earthlet slept through 8.30pm - 7 am. This was great and very unusual!! Then I did some house sorting, and then and hour and a half tutoring. I returned my books and the library seemed to waive the fine :) Then I had a lovely picnic in the park with earthlet, and palyed in the play area. Finally I paid some tutoring money into the bank, and filled out a security form for an ongoing ppi claim, before heading to the shops and getting a good shop at mr As on budget.

Now I am home, earthlets tea is all ready and we are going to chill with a hm curry later, bliss.

I want everyday to be a Saturday!!

    Hi all,

Just had my 1st maternity appointment and I am quite excited now!!

I had a few concerns to raise over the complications last time, so they are very kindly refering me to the hospital for an appointment to discuss the problems. I also asked about this feeling a bit "not myself", and apparently its normal :) However its not normal to feel as anxious as I do, and the midwife offered that a doctor should give me a sick note to ensure I get enough rest, and feel like I am coping with everything, but I declined. I feel like I can sort things out and feel back to my normal self with just a little work on my part - and I am considering a little "back off" chat with my boss just to ensure she doesn't pile more stuff on me!!! I have really got to think about HEALTH.

On another note (than just blatently talking about myself ;0 ) OH and I have started controlled crying with earthlet, to try and get him in bed earlier - its tough!! He went down at 2.30am in the end arghhh!

Earthlet had a good sleep last night, and got himself off to sleep twice! He is making great leaps with his sleep now, so hopefully we will have that sorted this week.

I have had a chat with my boss at work, and told her that the midwife mentioned that I need to decreae my anxiety levels and generally get a better work life balance, and that a doctors note for a month was declined! She seemed suitably in agreement that I can do that within the confines of the job, and suggested some ways that I could reduce my anxiety about certain issues - reports and marking. So that is all good!

In terms of money - I hope that it is not suggested that I drop lunch duty, as I enjoy the fresh air (and the free lunch!!) but we will see. All is under control on the money front at the moment, and I will do my banking this weekend.

I can send earthlet to nursery school when he is 2 and a half at a cost of £7.50 for 3 hours, 3 times per week. When he gets to 3 he can go for 5 sessions for free. What do other parents think? Is nursery a good idea at 2 1/2 ?

I'd say definately a good idea, he gets to socialise, you get a bit of a break also will keep him in the routine for when you go back to work (i'm assuming you are!) and thats a bargain I think at £7.50 a session, my DS has just started getting his funding he goes 9-4 while I work, and they still charge £21 a day for the wrap-around of the 'free' sessions and lunch!

Thanks Brodiebob - How many 3 hour sessions per week would you send a 2/12 year old to? Max is 3.

  • Oh my goodness, I am sooooo far behind! Hi, again Earthy... I was a regular reader of your "gets back on track" thread a couple of years ago. I'm back on MSE (to help keep me on the straight and narrow) so trying to catch up with some old MSErs too (and newbies). The MFW board seems to have exploded in popularity! Sounds like you've been busy!

I'm sorry, I can't help with baby/child matters... just not my field of expertise!

Could start with 2 and see how he goes, if he enjoys it could always up it.

Mine likes going more than being at home, every monday on my day off he cries to go :o
