Olympic tickets

I applied for a totoal of 22 tickets for our family of 5 across various events - including some first round (kids pay their age etc) and have had £0 debited.
Really gutted and feel so angry that someone was allocated £11K worth. What a stupid stupid system. Surely a system where the computer aimed to offer at least one thing to everyone would have been fairer rather than letting greedy people take a huge bunch.0 -
I asked for TaekwonDo and some sailing (cos its walkable). Cheap seats as I haven't any money, but nothing has been taken from my account so it looks like I have nothing. I didn't want finals either just daytime early on events so that the kids can say they had been.0

We've got nada too!
Disappointed with the process, its all very well if you have a high credit limit and can afford to take a gamble and sell back unwanted tickets at a later date. I suspect many people who thought carefully about what they REALLY wanted to see have, like me, ended up with nothing.
Makes my blood boil too that we've had to go thru this crazy lottery process and people from other countries have just been able to buy what they wanted. We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
At least Boris didnt get any either
But he will probably get freebies next year whether Ken gets back in or not.

Strange, on Tuesday night i noticed a pending transaction of £122.85 on my Barclaycard, which I assumed would be the olympics tickets...
Now I find that the transaction has disappeared. So now I am left wondering whether I have tickets at all..
I will be very annoyed to miss out on this once in a lifetime event
Can anyone explain this?0 -
İ applied for basketball, 100m final, judo, Taekwondo, which waz worth about £480. My card was stollen in april and just phonned to update new card, payment was taken phonned bank and learnt ony 150 ish was taken so i guess only one or two boaring events!
Did they contact you about alternative payment details or did you just phone up anyway?0 -

I'm sure they've had one all along, probably just rejected people straight away when the queues got too long.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0 -
Couldn't wait any more - phoned my credit card company last night and have been debited £76 from my £900 of applications - 2 tickets to horse jumping. My daughter is very excited, but gutted not all of our family will be able to go. Because of the cost I split the events that so we weren't all going to all of them - 3 lots of gymnastics, 2 athletics, 1 diving and 1 other horseriding. Got 2 tickets out of 24 applied for.
Hopefully we will still be able to get tickets for some other event for the rest of the family - but I think there might be lots of people in the same boat.0 -

I can't explain it but I had the same experience. I can't be sure the sum was exactly the same, but it was certainly for around £125 and had been pending for the past 10 days or so but disappeared at precisely the same time everyone else's turned from pending into actual transactions and were confirmed as Olympics tickets.
Barclaycard tell me they can't even confirm whether there was ever a pending transaction, and therefore can't tell me who the merchant was who was requesting it (mind-boggling that they insist they have no record of it even though their own site describes pending transactions as ones "they have authorised" but are awaiting withdrawal).
The Olympic helpline was only able to tell me I've been unsuccessful so far so that pending transaction was either not them or shouldn't have been them as I haven't been allocated anything, but I've deliberately avoided using the card for anything else to ensure I had sufficient funds in the account so there's no other explanation.
Absolutely gutted - the timings, amounts and length of time left pending seem too similar to all those who were successful to be a coincidence but nobody seems to be able to explain it.
I'll look forward to the email graciously telling me I've got first dibs on tickets to the handball.0
