I had also applied for the cross country. You were allowed to buy up to 20 tickets on that so I wrongly assumed it would be easier to get tickets for. (I only applied for 3 tickets).

    48 tickets applied for

    I have been allocated

    2

And the only reason is that I went for the third price category out of five
for a morning session of the Swimming

All others were either the cheapest or the second cheapest

I also thought it was going to be easy. I'm kicking myself for not getting family members to apply for me! I bet people have applied for a load and their names have been pulled from the hat and they're got the tickets. they could have limited the amount to 5 or 6 per person.

I guess there is the possibility that some might pop up for sale privately?

I'm sure they will be but they will also be vastly overpriced and illegal to buy.

I think quite alot of ticketa will come baack on for sale, even through official channels. all those people from, say, Edinburgh who applied for lots of tickets hoping to have a mini Olympic holiday now have one pair of twenty pound tickets to see eg. preliminary hockey. Not worth the travel for most so tickets back in the pool.

I think you're probably correct. I suspect, however, that you will be able to offer them for resale but there will be no guarantee that all tickets will actually be resold. I suspect that people may be stuck with any unpopular ones.

From what's been taken off my Visa credit card available balance today I must have got either 3 tickets for the evening of the 5th August, including the the men's 100m final, or 3 tickets for the evening of the 11th August, including the men's 4 X 100m final, so I'm well pleased.

Still no joy here. Credit card available has not matched by about £396 for days now but nothing has updated. Still a glimmer of hope but I bet it's just the figures not adding up.

Still no luck here either. Annoyed that I bank somewhere that doesn't show pending transactions and takes so long to process transactions. Even though I know this I keep obessessively checking!

My Tesco CC didn't show anything as "pending". It just reduced the "available credit" so I phoned the call centre. They confirmed the amount and the fact that the requester was TICKETS.LONDON2012

The full transaction finally showed up today after 5 days wait. Hang in there!
