Red wine stain help!

Hello all,
Sorry if this has been covered before but couldn't find a specific answer.
Does anyone know how to remove a red wine stain from a cream 100& cotton top that has been washed twice after staining?
The first time the garment was soaked in a saltwater solution then laundered, second time soaked in white wine vinegar with bicarbonate of soda paste then laundered.
I realize that the satin is "washed in" but is there any method of removing it at this stage?
Thanks in advance.0 -
i borrowed a white dress from my friend for holiday and accidentally spilt red wine on it. After washing 2 or 3 times the stain was still there so I covered the stain in lemon juice and hung it out on the line in the sun for 3 days. The stain has now gone.0

I'd put a bit of water on the stain, and then some salt and leave it for a while for the salt to soak it up. Then wash it as normal0

ZipA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Stupidly fell asleep on Sunday with reains of a glass of red wine in hand and was wearing WHITE shorts, silly me.
Washed then on a hot wash used trusty old Stardrops first and a good dousing of bleach, but the stain is still very much there.
Have searched the boards but no answers, so am hoping that you trusty lot can come to my rescue once again.
Heres hoping,0 -
Unfortunately that hot wash has probably fixed the stain. The only option open to you is to use barely diluted bleach or peroxide now.0

Not that it's much help now, but I was told once by a dry cleaner to never try and get a stain out with a hot wash. The heat can set the stain into the material.
Have you tried white wine? Not sure if it will work now the clothes have been washed, but it may work.0 -
It may be too late as you have already washed them, but soak in cold water and rub vanish soap directly onto the stain. Usually after that I soak in the vanish prewash stuff and then apply vanish soap again. It may take several goes but it might work0

I am a professional carpet cleaner.
Bitter and twisted is almost certainly correct, but Lakeland on line and in shops have a red wine stain remover which might work.0 -
thanks for the quick replies. I did soak them overnight in cold water first, but as you have all said, the stain seems to be fixed for now, will try more bleach on dry shorts, but as it's old will buy new and see if it does the trick.0
