Well, Amanda Keller's handy hint about red wine stains in the carpet is to draw a chalk outline around it, as it will make a great talking point when you host parties.

Yes... I concur with this... it definitely works but you have to do it quicky...

Lick up what you can of the spilt red before wasting the white wine

Vodka's better than white wine because it has a higher alcohol content which is what acts as a solvent to get the red wine out.

aghhh. a couple of (small) red wine stains on our new carpet, and it's looking a little black this morning. any tips on how to get rid of?

unfortunately the only inspiration i have is the red wine remover i've seen at house of fraser for £7 a bottle!

Take one drunk man with large glass of red wine, add carpet, painted wall and stupidly expensive upholstered chair. Topple.
Add 1kg of salt and various cleaning techniques to no avail.

Please help me help my mother. The flat is rented and the furniture she loves more than all the family put together :rolleyes:

What is the best way to tackle these three areas?

I'll go have a browse on here when I get more time.
