    Fixed that for you :p

Circle game kilty. Remember the circle game.

(For the uninitiated: on a clear road, move out to lane 3, overtake, pull back to lane 1, slow down a little, let them overtake you again, rinse and repeat until their head explodes ;)).

Too much like hard work in a Picanto :D - momentum conservation!

I've actually had someone on another forum state in public that if I were to try the circle game (remember, a perfectly safe, legal and non-aggressive manouvre) on him he would ram me off the road.

That's what we are dealing with. They are psychos.

Think of the PI claim for that, and the nice shiny hire car you'll be driving for a bit, putting his insurance premium up nicely for when his ban is over :D

No a lane between him and the lorries is too much of a safey margin.

Actually Lane 3 is now for Audi's.

People do it because they are lazy, ignorant, arrogant, selfish or lack the spatial awareness to be a competent driver.

The Police won't do anything about it - choosing to target under-takers rather than the root cause of the problem. It's partly an education problem - people don't realise that if you're not going to overtake the next car in front within 15-30 seconds then you should move back in.

Some do it because they are too lazy to pull over to the left lane to pull back into the middle lane a couple minutes later to overtake another lorry/slow vehicle.

Or they worry that because all those "heavy lorries use lane 1, it will be full of pot-holes so I better be safe and stay in lane 2" even though I've found that lane 1 is often the best lane for road-surface.

Remember lane 3 is the only lane white van men are allowed to use (or so it seems) ;)

They do it because they think of motorways in terms of:

Slow/lorry lane | Normal lane | Fast lane

    Instead of:

    1 | 2 | 3

Shocking really, but then it's been said that 60%+ of drivers don't know what the national speed limit sign is or what it means.
